Everytime her foot touches it or anything she trembles and screams. She will sit happily on the blanket and if you hand her grass that you pull she has hours of fun playing with it! How could we cure her of this? What do you think causes it?!

Alot of infants and toddlers dislike their feet touching certain textures. My son didn;'t like sand at first..he just didn';t like it. But, he overcame that fear, and now loves it. It's just a thing with babies..

maybe she saw a bug or something, or saw something that scared her on TV.
Maybe u can check whether she reacts the same way to a green blanket, especially a really fuzzy one. if she does, maybe u can just leave it with her so that she gets courage to play with it and see there's nothing scary.
but generally i think she'll get over the grass thing. if it's still a problem when she's 5-6 yrs old then maybe u should look for a professional help.

Very common. Grass is prickly to babies tender feet. To adults, we might think grass is soft, but that's because our feet are now calloused and when we touch it with our hands we tend to use a horizontal motion such as on carpet instead of coming straight down on it with the palms of our hands.

My children preferred cement to grass, growing up. Relax, she'll get over it. Eventually she'll get curious enough to wander on her own off of the blanket. In the mean time, chill and enjoy her.

It is very unfamiliar to her, and on her feet probably feels very odd to her! She doesn't understand what it is, and why it feels different than the carpet, floor or blanket she has been on in the past! She will get over it, and in a few months, you won't be able to keep her on the blanket. And when she gets even older, good luck keeping her shoes on her feet in the grass!

I would be patient - give her time and don't torment her. Please don't make her stand on the grass. In time she will discover that the grass will not harm her and she will be running all around barefoot.

My granddaughter was terrified of bubbles and chocolate on anyone's face - imagine that. She would scream and cry for what seemed an eternity. She is now 3 years old and fine with dirty faces and the bubbles that clean them.

Maybe the texture of the grass freaks her out. I have one child who has always been very sensitive, and different textures on his feet made him panic a little bit. If the grass is not extremely soft, and it's a little dry or spikey, it feels really weird on our feet and since her feet are especially soft it might feel worse for her. Does she freak out only if she is barefoot, or also when she's wearing shoes or socks?

My daughter does that too. She'll 11 months. If I can get her distracted she will crawl to me over the grass, when she realizes this she crawls (fast) to the blanket. Oh, same reaction to sand. Doesn't like it either

It's just not something she cares for yet, and yes, she will get over it. My daughter didn't used to like it when we would try to stand her in the grass and let it touch her feet either. It's just something new that takes getting used to.

Go easy with her. I was the same way except with sand (and then, later, the sea. Now I grow weak at the sight of dead fish). Many people have some unexplainable fear, the thing with overcoming it is allowing her to get used to it on her own terms.
And, after all, she still is very young.

She most likely has a psychological disorder that involves grass; an anxiety disorder. It's that and she should most likely go see a accredited psychiatrist. Or she freakin insane and good luck
