My future ex-wife is NPD. She fits the 9 basic criteria of NPD to the bone. It's really unfortunate. I've tried really hard to get her to see the light and go into therapy. Not just for her but for our two small kids. The worst collateral damage is what NPD's do to their children. See the link below and educate yourself. It's really a sick and sad disease that is destined to destroy lives if not treated. If you have one in your life, seek help for both of you.

That's an interesting question. I've often wondered about that because I've heard of people being told the person they are complaining about sounds like they have NPD. My best guess is true narcissist never go to counseling or seek help.
