Islam recognises and believes in all prophets of Christianity - Moses, Jonah, Joseph, Aron, Jesus, etc etc. Yes!! and a very high respect for Jesus( prophet "Essa" in Islam). We also believe in the miricle birth and assention of Essa. How is it that Christians missed out on a man like Mohamed who is the seal of all prophets (the last prophet of Islam ) who was the worlds greatest revolutionist - because of his teachings, that up to the present day help both muslims and non-muslims. Some of his teachings were, caring and loving children, modestly dressing, the importance of greeting, sharing wealth with the poor in your environment, respecting and rembering the Prophets (that even Christians believe in)...................how how how did you miss this great personality

I would hope that I am a decent Christian. Let me point out to you that Muhamed is dead and in his grave. However, I would point out that Jesus, Who is God in the flesh, is alive. The tomb is empty.

It is just as hard for me to believe that an intelligent person could be taken in by the belief that Muhamed is a prophet of God, since even Muslims know that Isaac, and not Ishmael, is the child of promise. Ishmael was the illegitimate son of a slave woman, concieved because Sarah and Abraham did not wait on God's timing. His arrogant and disrespectful attitude toward Abraham's legitimate wife got them both tossed out of his father's house, and God told Abraham to listen to the voice of his wife.

Although God spared them, there was never any indication that any prophet would come from Ishmael's line. The god Muslims worship is nothing more than an ancient moon-god, who supposedly had two daughters. In reality, probably a bit of meteor.

The idea that God pulled a fast one by putting a fake Jesus on the cross is reprehensible, and I am amazed that any sane person could believe that. Do you really believe that Allah is going to reward anybody by giving them 72 virgins? As a woman, I am offended by the notion that, after keeping her virginity throughout her lifetime, a woman would end up as a prize. This is justice?

May God (the real one, not the stone in Mecca) bless you and open your eyes.

Easy.
The bible was written before Mohammed. He had some good points but the Bible is older. Also Jesus is supposed to be the final word on things and he died to save Christians and Islam sees Mohammed as the last word so that may play a part in it too.

See Wikipedia:
Muhammad, Arabic: محمد‎ muḥammad; also Mohammed and other variants,[1] (c. 571 – 632) established the religion of Islam and the Muslim community.[2] Muslims believe him to have been God's final prophet, to whom the Qur'an was revealed.

According to traditional Muslim biographers, Muhammad was born c. 570 in Mecca and died June 8, 632 in Medina, both in the Hejaz region of present day Saudi Arabia.

The name Muhammad means "the praised one" in Arabic, being a passive participle from the root ḥmd حمد "to praise". Within Islam, Muhammad is known as "The Prophet" and "The Messenger". The Qur'an (33:40) also refers to him as the "Seal of the Prophets" (Arabic: ḫatamu-n-nabiyyīn).

Well the bible does mention false prophets, and Mohammad would be considered one of them. You neglected to mention that Christians are considered to be the worst of all sinners in Islam, the "truth concealers" and that we commit the unforgivable sin "shirk" by believing in Jesus as our savior.

A previous answer was that Muhammad was unrelated to the Bible, and I agree. His teachings and Jesus's teachings conflict and as a Christian you will follow Jesus and the Bible, and as a Muslim you will follow Muhammad's teachings and the Qu'ran.

Muhammad may have been a great guy, but he's not a Christian, and since he was not spreading the Christian religion, why would the CHRISTIAN scriptures write about a man who was founding a false religion that denied Jesus as the savior of all men?

If that was rude, I'm sorry, but Islam and Christianity are not compatible and I just wanted to point this out. I do not have anything against Muslims and do not take this answer as such.

Because to Christians, Muhammad isn't a prophet, and was never talked to by God. For example, Jews believe in Moses, Jonah, Joseph, Aron and others. Christians believe in those, plus Jesus, and Muslims believe in all those prophets, plus Muhammad. The Bible continues after the death and Ascension of Jesus with his followers spreading Christianity throughout the Biblical lands and Greece and the Roman Empire, and ends with Revelation. So, since Christians don't believe in Muhammad, he isn't in the Bible. For us, he is, no offense, like Buddha or Confucius. We don't deny his existence, but we don't believe that he was spoken to by God.

My dearest friend...Christianity did not miss Mohamed. Christianity was atleast 700 older than islam, so Mohamed and islam was not around then.
secondly (with all due respect and please do not be offened, this purely a spiritually academic answer based on facts); if Christianity was to recognise the coming of another prophet, it would have done so.
IF Mohamed was a continuation or extenssion of Christianity, his teachings would literally mimick those of Christianity. The following is a couple of difference and are by no means exhaustive list of differences between the Teachings of Jesus and those of Mohamed:
- Christ says that He is in fact GOD or the Son of God, Mohamed made Him out as a prophet
- Christ DID die and resurrect on the 3rd day prior to ascending, where Mohamed denied His death and only says that He only ascended.
- Christ says that ONLY those that come to Him will be saved, where as islam denies the salvation through Jesus.
Christ spoke of the Trinity as being One God ONLY, yet islam denies the trinity and says the Allah exists in His own strictly singular being (but nontheless, still one God, I agree, but still a major difference).
- Christ Promotes a faith that is based on a deap and personal relationship the penatrates the soul between man and God, where islam brings the fear of Allah into the hearts of men and forces 'eternal heaven' on them and no freedom of choice (so to speak)
- Christianity preaches to turn the other cheak and preach by love where islam promotes preaching by the sword (in extreme cases ofcourse, but nontheless it is a teaching)

and many many more differences. And whilst it is flatering to know that Mohamed recognises 'Esah' as a "prophet" simply because christianities existance prior to Islam, but it is by no means an exhaustive condition to make Christianity prophecy of the coming of Mohamed, given that there is no link between both when you analyse them to the core.

In order to make the research easy for you, as us aussies say, "Call a spade a spade" and make a true factual comparison of both, and see the similarities and differences between both and decide on the truth based on fact and the calling that is within you.

May God bless you and guide you.

He was a good man, but not a prophet, Isaiah 8 tells us how to test a prophet to see if he is a true prophet from God and look at all the prophets of the Bible - they are common in their teachings and practices. Mohammed did not follow all that they did.

I don't really know, but, when did Mohamed live? Were his writings done after the New Testament prophets were killed? If so, that is probably why he was not included.

Just to let you know... there are many prophets that are not included in the Bible. These are the Prophets that lived on the American continent and their writings were not known to include in the Bible. You can read their writings at http://scriptures.lds.org/

because Muhamed is not a prophet and thats the truth
he made wars and assaults the middle east
applying Jizia on those who refuse to join islam
he murdered people also

he is a false prophet

the propheces was accomplished then there is no need for another prophet after that God him self became a body
and walked the earth
after God`s word cam down to earth in a human body there is no need for another prophet.

John 1:14 And so the Word became flesh and took a place among us for a time; and we saw his glory--such glory as is given to an only son by his father--saw it to be true and full of grace.

The prophets of the old and new testaments lived their lives as examples for us to follow. Mohammed had a history of torture, murder, marrying a girl who wasn't even in puberty, slave ownership, etc., so its very hard for christians to see him as a prophet. Also, the part about murdering anyone who isn't muslim would probably keep a lot of christians, like myself, from seriously considering him a prophet. Really, what christian would want to acknowledge a person as a prophet that says to murder them?

Because the Bible was written before Muhammad. That's kind of like asking, why don't Pagans believe in Christianity? Or why Jews don't believe in Jesus?

Religions have ending points. They are finite. Otherwise, we'd probably all get along so much better if people were open to flux.
