The ancient Mayan calendar ends 23/12/2012 is this the end of the world or the beginning of the golden age?

Hello, I know some people that as you, are confused about religion. I being a man of science have struggled with this for many years . I have been carring on a forum with other science guys about this topic and I thought you might want to look over my last response. If direction is what you require, check this out. Do a search for Edgar Cayce and try getting some of his material. After going over his stuff I had to change may opinion, no matter how smart I thought I was, the proof is too strong. Just look over it and make your own decision about which path to take.


Hey guys I want to clarify about my email concerning 12-21-2012.

A lot of you thought I was talking about the end of the world. After I looked at what I wrote I guess it could be viewed as that but that is not what I meant.

The message was actually about science proving what has been predicted.

If you looked at the stuff in the email you will see that all these different entities have foretold of a major event that they say will happen in 2012.

NOW, If you look at the stuff on the NASA website you can see everything that was predicted beginning to unfold.

I don't think it will be the end of the world but it is kind of amazing that these profits all said 2012 and that it would be a pole shift, force shift, ect.

NOW NASA is saying the same thing, that planet Earth maybe facing a pole shift in 2012.

If this happens then that would be very bad. We are talking about tidal waves, volcanoes, earthquakes. Worst of all from what they are saying, this will knock out all computer chips.

What is even more interesting is that what Edgar Cayce says about this. He is the world’s most accurate profit.

From the scientific studies of him and by his own account and observations all his predictions did not come from him. He actually knew nothing of what he said because he said it in his SLEEP. He would talk in his sleep when he was asked a question and he would wake up and know nothing about what he said or what he was asked.

Actually he could not have known anything about what he said because he only had a 2nd grade education.

When he was asked in his sleep where this information came from he answered that it was coming from his soul.

The scientists that studied him called it his subconscious

Any how, he gave very detailed and accurate info about anything you asked him in his sleep from where to find a lost watch to the purpose of life.

He said very interesting things that only strengthen and prove the existence of GOD.
He also described how every GOD based religion fit together and that every single person is linked, related by the soul or God’s energy.

He gave 14,000 readings. Most all of them have been documented, studied and verified as true.

He said things that no one could know like for example,
he said that the Pyramids were built in 10,000 b.c. instead of 200 b.c.
Historians always say that the pyramids were built by the Egyptians but in 10,000 b.c the Egyptians were not around.

He was asked for proof this and he said that the pyramids were constructed to point and line up directly with the three stars in the constellation of Orion’s belt. Just recently by way of computers scientists have found this to be true but only if you set the computer program to show the sky over the pyramids in the time of 10,000 b.c.

He also said that a great hall of records of these very ancient people that were way more advanced then us
(people that built the pyramids) was hidden under the left foot of the great Sphinx (The Half Man Half Cat Statue). Just recently sound wave technology has proven that there is indeed a camber under that foot but they can’t get to it because they will have to destroy the statue.

He described many surgical procedures about how to repair human anatomy that our Doctors use today.

His readings helped cure the sick of incurable illnesses by following instructions of eating healthily, exercise and taking certain combinations of herbs and vitamins.

His readings shown how science is God’s language and that it proves God not disproves God.

It’s really hard to explain how this guy’s information can’t be simply ignored because there is so much that has been proven to be true.

I have gone over a lot of his readings. One can only ignore the facts for so long before you have to say, “ok there is something there.” I challenge any atheist to go over Cayce’s stuff and at the end honestly say that there is not a God.

And the Mayan Calendar, well that thing is very scientific as well.

That thing can tell you the planetary position of our galaxy bodies and any given time. That thing works like a clock, every time the planets go full circle in there orbit in was like another year. Ten rotations around was another decade (just as an example). Scientist don’t know how they were able to formulate this simple looking device to track the planets as it does.

With this Maya were able to predict certain planetary changes. I am not certain about the numbers of rotations but according to their calendar every 7240 years or so marks the entrance for a new world phase as they call it.

According to their calendar, 12-21-2012 marks the entrance of the next new world phase. Historians say that there calendar ends but I think it just starts over.

There pyramids also have something to do with the planets too. Every so many years the sun will be in a unique position that it will actually cast a shadow of a snake using the pyramids (This is called the Equinox).

This means that they too had an advanced way of building in order to position their pyramids when they built them for this to occur.

Scientist today can not explain how they were able to do that.

Egypt’s pyramids are more precisely aligned to true North and South then the Loov(?) in Europe which also tried to align to the poles.

All I am saying is that as I have been following these things and I am seeing this unfold and it is rather interesting.


We have lots of accounts in history of civilizations being wiped out due to major disasters. Maybe this is the cause. SO, in conclusion, I am just trying to tell you not to buy a computer in the year 2012

NASA scientists who monitor the Sun say that our star's awesome magnetic field is flipping -- a sure sign that solar maximum is here.

February 15, 2001 -- You can't tell by looking, but scientists say the Sun has just undergone an important change. Our star's magnetic field has flipped.
The Sun's magnetic north pole, which was in the northern hemisphere just a few months ago, now points south. It's a topsy-turvy situation, but not an unexpected one.
"This always happens around the time of solar maximum," says David Hathaway, a solar physicist at the Marshall Space Flight Center. "The magnetic poles exchange places at the peak of the sunspot cycle. In fact, it's a good indication that Solar Max is really here."

The Sun's magnetic poles will remain as they are now, with the north magnetic pole pointing through the Sun's southern hemisphere, until the year 2012 when they will reverse again. This transition happens, as far as we know, at the peak of every 11-year sunspot cycle -- like clockwork.
Earth’s magnetic field also flips, but with less regularity. Consecutive reversals are spaced 5 thousand years to 50 million years apart. The last reversal happened 740,000 years ago. Some researchers think our planet is overdue for another one, but nobody knows exactly when the next reversal might occur.



Although solar and terrestrial magnetic fields behave differently, they do have something in common: their shape. During solar minimum the Sun's field, like Earth's, resembles that of an iron bar magnet, with great closed loops near the equator and open field lines near the poles. Scientists call such a field a "dipole." The Sun's dipolar field is about as strong as a refrigerator magnet, or 50 gauss (a unit of magnetic intensity). Earth's magnetic field is 100 times weaker.

When solar maximum arrives and sunspots pepper the face of the Sun, our star's magnetic field begins to change. Sunspots are places where intense magnetic loops -- hundreds of times stronger than the ambient dipole field -- poke through the photosphere.
"Meridional flows on the Sun's surface carry magnetic fields from mid-latitude sunspots to the Sun's poles," explains Hathaway. "The poles end up flipping because these flows transport south-pointing magnetic flux to the north magnetic pole, and north-pointing flux to the south magnetic pole." The dipole field steadily weakens as oppositely-directed flux accumulates at the Sun's poles until, at the height of solar maximum, the magnetic poles change polarity and begin to grow in a new direction.
Hathaway noticed the latest polar reversal in a "magnetic butterfly diagram." Using data collected by astronomers at the U.S. National Solar Observatory on Kitt Peak, he plotted the Sun's average magnetic field, day by day, as a function of solar latitude and time from 1975 through the present. The result is a sort of strip chart recording that reveals evolving magnetic patterns on the Sun's surface. "We call it a butterfly diagram," he says, "because sunspots make a pattern in this plot that looks like the wings of a butterfly."
In the butterfly diagram, pictured below, the Sun's polar fields appear as strips of uniform color near 90 degrees latitude. When the colors change (in this case from blue to yellow or vice versa) it means the polar fields have switched signs.

The ongoing changes are not confined to the space immediately around our star, Hathaway added. The Sun's magnetic field envelops the entire solar system in a bubble that scientists call the "heliosphere." The heliosphere extends 50 to 100 astronomical units (AU) beyond the orbit of Pluto. Inside it is the solar system -- outside is interstellar space.
"Changes in the Sun's magnetic field are carried outward through the heliosphere by the solar wind," explains Steve Suess, another solar physicist at the Marshall Space Flight Center. "It takes about a year for disturbances to propagate all the way from the Sun to the outer bounds of the heliosphere."
Because the Sun rotates (once every 27 days) solar magnetic fields corkscrew outwards in the shape of an Archimedian spiral. Far above the poles the magnetic fields twist around like a child's Slinky toy.

Because of all the twists and turns, "the impact of the field reversal on the heliosphere is complicated," says Hathaway. Sunspots are sources of intense magnetic knots that spiral outwards even as the dipole field vanishes. The heliosphere doesn't simply wink out of existence when the poles flip -- there are plenty of complex magnetic structures to fill the void.
Or so the theory goes.... Researchers have never seen the magnetic flip happen from the best possible point of view -- that is, from the top down.
But now, the unique Ulysses spacecraft may give scientists a reality check. Ulysses, an international joint venture of the European Space Agency and NASA, was launched in 1990 to observe the solar system from very high solar latitudes. Every six years the spacecraft flies 2.2 AU over the Sun's poles. No other probe travels so far above the orbital plane of the planets.
"Ulysses just passed under the Sun's south pole," says Suess, a mission co-Investigator. "Now it will loop back and fly over the north pole in the fall."

"This is the most important part of our mission," he says. Ulysses last flew over the Sun's poles in 1994 and 1996, during solar minimum, and the craft made several important discoveries about cosmic rays, the solar wind, and more. "Now we get to see the Sun's poles during the other extreme: Solar Max. Our data will cover a complete solar cycle."

Let's address the various parts of your question.
First...the Mayan Long Count calendar doesn't end on Dec 23 2012 (or any other date). On December TWENTY FIRST, it rolls over from 12 Baktuns to 13 Baktuns (a Baktun is 396 years long) so you can say a BAKTUN ended...but not on the 23d.
Second...this is not the end of this world, which is already over.
Third...It is the beginning of a new age, but not necessary a "golden" one.
The actual "event" of December 21 2012 is a once in 26,000 year astronomical alignment between the sun and the Milky Way at dawn. The sun conjuncts an area of the Milky Way which the Maya believed to be the birth canal of the universe (it's actually very close to the center of our galaxy, where stars form). So as the sun goes through the birth canal...it's reborn.
It's really more SCIENCE than religion. It's Astronomy, not Astrology.

There is a documentary I watched from the 1990s about the UFO encounters. It mentions that the landings have been noted about every 3000 years if I recall, which someone on the video said it was in conjuction with the Mayan Calendar. He estimated the next landing to be on the date the Calendar ends. Who knows. Was an interesting video though.

i'm not sure, I think it just means ther will be a great change is all. Or perhaps it is when they will return, whoever "they" are. I'm not refering to the myans when i say they. Perhaps it is when the golden age begins, another shift in th wheel of time. another age. Or perhaps that is just how far thet got before they dissappeared. we will know when 2012 rolls around.
