If you could do your wedding ceremony/reception all over again, what would you change and why?

i would have taken the advice of the millions of women on wedding websites and would have HIRED A COORDINATOR FOR THE DAY OF THE WEDDING. i was such an idiot for not doing that. i was lucky though, because the photographer's wife stepped in to take over that position and completely helped me through the wedding. my mom and i were so overwhelmed and stressed out. we really should have hired one. i cannot emphasize this enough.

I was 19 when I got married and have learned alot since then. I am an amateur baker of all kinds of cakes. So the first thing I would change is I would be better prepared. I had to throw a wedding together in a month. A wedding does not have to be as crazy of an ordeal as some people make it. If you have time and patience you can have the most beautiful a wedding or reception on the littlest of budgets. My whole wedding and reception in 1992 cost us $1600.00 and that included the dress and bridesmaid dresses.

I did do it all over again when I got married the 2nd time and I changed EVERYTHING!

The first time I was caught up in making everyone else happy and what is 'traditional' or expected.

The 2nd time I had a smaller wedding with only the people who really mattered (none of this, your parents invite 10 strangers and my parents invite 10 strangers). The wedding represented US as a couple and as individuals.

I'm a down home earthy girl so the wedding was outside at a conservation area. I had very few flowers because I realized that no one even noticed or remembered them the 1st time!! I chose daisies and sunflowers, my favourites and they were in season so cheap! I put the bouquets together myself with ribbon from the dollar store and got more compliments! My sister in law made my cake, a fabulous chocolate cake! My favourite again! I married a cowboy so he wore a hat, long coat and boots. We rented a car (not a limo) that we also used for the honeymoon.
We had a good dinner (catered) at a small venue that was nicely decorated but not overdone (I had no one to impress and that kind of thing isn't me), we made the centerpieces (and I am NOT crafty but they added a nice personal touch adn everyone loved them) we did not stress about guest favours and again made those, then we just partied the night away!!

I wouldn't change a thing and I wish more brides realized that all the little things they stress about and get frustrated about go unnoticed by the guests and will be hard to remember as they get older. A wedding should reflect the couple.

Our wedding was simply beautiful, it was a great day!! The only thing I would change is that I would like to have taken more portraits with friends and family...we did take a lot of pictures but it would've been nice to take even more. Fortunately, we can always watch the wedding video. We've been married nearly a year now and people are still talking about how much fun they had that day - that's exactly what we wanted.

I had the big traditional wedding the first time around and enjoyed the day, that was the best day of my marriage. the next time around I wouldn't want the big dress etc, a much more intimate affair would suit better, with an unusual location and better food. I would do what we want to do, rather than worrying about keeping everyone else happy.

I wouldn't change anything. My husband and I were broke and couldn't afford a "wedding" and we both felt that being married was more important so we got married at the courthouse. My parents bought us a cake and made us a "Just married" sign. We had a few family members with us and got some great gifts and it was a lot of fun and very stress free!

First of all married another man.

Secondly I would have not tried to please everyone, especially my mother and mother in law.
I would of had a wedding on the beach, barefoot and a ring of flowers in my hair.

Nothing too major, the only thing my dress was absoultly beautiful but my train didn't get put down and I loved that part of my dress. So I wish it was put down. Other then that small detail. NOTHING!!!!
