If they would do their research, they'll find that the story of Noah is thought by many scholars to be adapted from an earlier story of Utnapishtim (from the Mesopotamian Epic of Gilgamesh) and is mentioned in other holy books other than the Bible.

What prompted this question was a news piece I saw last night on a Texas man who found petrified wood imbedded with sea fossils on a mountain in Iran (modern day Mesopotamia) and thinks if this is proven as the Ark it will validate the Bible (his words).

I thik that you may find that you are correct in your assumption. I don't think it will validate the whole Bible... unless Noah carved his name in the boat!! But I am with you on the Epic of Gilgamish.

really the validity of noah's ark is irrelivent to proving the bible the fact that existance was created at all should be proof of the bible enough however people want more so prophecies were made in the book of daniel which have proven true throughout the centuries for instance the prophecy that the european nations shall not cleave one to another till the end of time in the beginning it was rulled by the babaloneans then the medians and the persians then greece and finally rome when rome fell many dictators have tried to conquer the nations and unite them once again and where so many have succeeded in keeping these nations together no one else was capable of these things

I think it is the other way around. People who believe that part of the bible to be fact do not expect anything else. They would expect others to find believing less hard.

Like Howard Carter expected to find treasure. He knew chances were slim he would find any but he KNEW it was out there.

Finding the Ark does not validate anything for those that believe. It does not need validation. For those that do not believe, finding any boat is merely a strange coincidence even if 'Noah's Ark' is written on the side.

Even if you don't believe stories from the bible...you can always make good sense out of them and learn how to live a better life because of them! It is silly for people to try coming up with eveidence to prove the Bible wrong. I loved the story of Noah and the ark when I was a toddler and still do to this day as I do many other readings from the Bible. :)

Exactly, all these books talk of a great deludge that happened, each from a different point of view but all saying that it was a great deludge. Even books that could not have been related or the authors knowing of each other because of time and space. This alone should convince us that the great deluge was real. Even Jesus spoke of it in Matthew 24 where he likened his second coming to that of Naoh's time and the flood. If Jesus thought it was real then so should we, and if we start to eliminate what is real from the Bible then how will we know for sure what is real or not? All scripture is inspiration from God and God cannot lie - so believe, you can't loose either way.

why do some people think if you dont have tangible proof of every aspect of the bible, it's not true. have you proven every scientific theory on your own, or do you trust the scientist? do you know all the scientists? why do you put your faith in scientists you have never met, but not a god you havent met. science exists, so it must be true? well, the bible exists, why cant it be true? there is not one testimony that jesus did not walk the earth. there are no written stories, of any person that lived during that time, that says, they are making this all up. these things never happened. not even one. so, why is it so hard to believe something, that not one witness can say did not happen, but you can believe things that are only theory, and have not been proven to be so?

Because these people are either scientists skeptics or gold diggars. The scientists always want a reason for everything and anything (thats why they invented school so they could teach thier reasons for everything), the second just want something to talk about or an visible reason to change thier ways, and the last one just wants to sell it to some king or queen for some coin.

probably the same reason that people who are able to find an inconsistency in the bible then say the whole thing is false.

weak minds exist on both sides.
