Do Christians, like Muslims seek to build a utopian state based on their religious principles? If so, how does that make them different from any other fundamenalist/political group ie. communists, facists, muslim fundamentalists etc...?

To Gracecaptive: In saying they/them I am refering to fundamentalists, sorry if that wasn't clear and you took offense.

Excellent point.

there's a big difference and no, i'm neither one.
the christians tend to think jesus is god, fundamentalist or otherwise.
the moslems don't think jesus is god. they think he was a prophet.
the moslem's famous prophet muhammed was a child molester.
they are as different as night and day.

if you're trying to insinuate that fundamentalist religion is the cause of wars, you're wrong there too. politicians cause wars. the moslem terrorist leaders are useing the most ignorant, malcontent religious moslems they can find to blow themselves up for a cause that won't benifit them in the end. these terrorist leaders have political ends in mind that will set themselves in positions of power if their terrorist activities succeede.
in general the fundamentalists of any religion can be used by the politicians for their purposes. the politicians here work for the corporations. the corporations own the media(to include this),the media news reflects what the corporations want people to think is the case about the world. so the fundamentalists of all religions are kooks?

Whoa--you have just pigeon-holed MILLIONS of people into two boxes. I am a Christian, and I do NOT believe my purpose is to conform the world around me to my moral standards. I have a responsibility to share my faith, and since I believe that Christ is the only way to God and Heaven (and out of Hell), I do sincerely hope that they accept what I am saying. I do not, however, jump on those "we shouldn't watch this channel because there was an offensive comment on one of the programs" bandwagons. I am so sorry that there are people of every faith and belief system setting a bad example. We are all human, imperfect shadows of a perfect God. But be very careful when you say "they/them" and mean "all of them". You are almost NEVER correct with what follows.

Good point. I could not believe the comments from the conservative right regarding the NYT report on the financial investigation. Imprison Editors, try them for treason, ban the paper.

Forgive them father, they know not what they do.
