Everytime I try to make Chocolate chip cookies they come out of the oven all mushy and well, gross. Does anyone know why and how I can fix it?

It might not be your recipe...it might be your oven. Sometimes an oven's temperature needs to be calibrated. Mine is like this...it's 25 degrees hot, so when something calls to be baked at 350, I actually have to preheat it to 325. Sounds like you have a slow (cool) oven.

All my cookies do that, except this one, if I remember correctly:

Original Nestle® Toll House® Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
¾ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 large eggs
1 12-oz package semisweet chocolate morsels
1 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375° F.
2. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Beat butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until creamy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in flour mixture. Stir in morsels and nuts. Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets.
3. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks to cool completely.

Here's a snickerdoodles recipe too:
Snickerdoodles

¼ cup sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
1 ½ cups sugar
½ cup shortening
½ cup butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
¼ teaspoon salt

Directions:
1. Heat oven to 400° F.
2. Mix ¼ cup sugar and the cinnamon; set aside. Beat 1 ½ cups sugar, the shortening, butter and eggs in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour, cream of tartar, baking soda and salt.
3. Shape dough into 1 ¼-inch balls. Roll in sugar-cinnamon mixture. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake about 10 minutes or until centers are almost set. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.

from a regular toll house cookie recipe, decrease the flour to 1 3/4 cups, and increase the brown sugar to 1 cup. These are excellent. They are thin, delicate, and almost lacy
