What has been your most positive Amtrak train ride experience?

I was on the Regional from Richmond to Washington in business class, where we had extra-wide reclining seats in the dining car as opposed to the usual modified coach cars that are normally given business class passengers. Unfortunately the seating section was almost full, and one passenger in the front was taking up three seats with all his carry-on luggage. Fortunately, the conductor took charge and moved the passenger's luggage to the overhead compartments without saying a word. When the passenger irately complained that he had "paid for first-class service," the conductor politely retorted that while he had paid for the service, "you did not, however, pay for the additional seats." Way to get the job done. I was able to take the window seat that was vacated by the conductor and enjoy the rest of my trip.

riding the Southwest Chief was very enjoyable. The view, the food, the people you meet and most of all the Navajo guides that tell you all the points of interest while going through the reservation from Gallup to Albebquerkie....Can't remember how to spell it but the phonics is close.
