It depends on your budget. If a nice hotel is in your budget, you could look for one that offers child care. Then, while your child is having fun, you can have yours. I suggest a light supper, some dancing, a long walk & talk, a little bit of wine, and them some wild torrid sex.

If you can't find a hotel with child care, then try taking the kid to an amusement park in the afternoon. Make sure they hit all the rides/activities that will tire them out. After they've gone to bed, then you can take care of each other.

I suggest a light meal that you purchased from a gourmet shop, some slow dancing in the living room or den, maybe a good romantic comedy, and them some wild torrid sex.

I'd say after your baby goes to bed, order in a nice meal (neither of you should have to cook) and just talk without mentioning work or the child. I find it romantic to just relax with my husband- that's when I feel closest to him. Sometimes when you try to be romantic it backfires and ends up feeling forced. A massage never hurts either though!
BTW- are there any other parents in the area that would be willing to take your 2 year old for the evening in return for you taking theirs the next week?

1. Put your child to bed.
2. During the day, if you work, crockpot a roast and potatoes, make a salad ahead of time in the morning. Have a bottle of wine chilled for the evening.
3. Set your table (romantically)
4. Have dinner with your spouse, and dessert (you choose) with beautiful music in the background that both of you like.
5. Get up from dinner table, forget the dishes and dance, dance, dance sloooooooowwwwwwww.

Plan a backyard or outdoor midnight picnic. Prep your picnic basket and get s couple bottles of wine. Then, once the baby goes to bed, go out and explore your options with your significant other.

Hope that works for ya...

Peace and B well,

J
