The owner's insurance will cover the vehicle. Your insurance MIGHT provide additional coverage, check with your insurance agent on this. If the owner does not have insurance, DO NOT test drive it on public roads or access ways!

Some companies extend your coverage to "temporary replacement vehicles" and some extend it to any car or light-duty pickup or passenger van that you are driving. And some provide coverage only for the vehicles on your policy. Check your policy to be sure.

No. Liability only covers damage to propriety other than the car. lets say you test drive this car with bad breaks. you loose control and crash into someones prize winning rose garden than crash into the garage. the rose bush and damage to garage will be fixed/replaced the any damage to the car if not. you will have to pay that out of pocket.

no. Your ins will cover only what you hit. And if your at fault you pay out of pocket to fix a car you do not own. Pay the extra few bucks and get full coverage.

Maria hit the nail on the head.If the owner has ins. and is in the car with you ,it is possible that you would be covered. It would depend on the owners policy. I.E. mine excludes drivers under the age of 21.
