We have year around school where I live and I actually liked it a lot better then school the other way. Your spring, winter and fall breaks are two weeks instead of one, you only go to school until the first week of June and you go back either the first or second week in August, you get longer breaks, and I think it's much better, but everyone else has their own opinion.

I believe school should be a year round thing. It would keep kids out of trouble, number one. And, it would also keep their minds focused on what they need, an education. If they are in school all year, they learn more instead of losing everything they learned over a three month vacation. I went to a year round school in elementary, they didn't have it for the rest of the middle and high school. Trust me, you learn to appreciate the time spent in class more. I know this sounds oh so ridiculous to many of you.....but, look around at some of the kids in school now. They need more education and discipline!!

Until grade 12, sure. It should be 10 weeks on, 3 weeks off year round. The long haul of ten months straight would be broken up, giving kids, parents and teachers a break.

The whole reason Canadian and US cities have a two month summer is from days past: the kids were needed to work on the farm in harvest time. Why do we need that in cities where most people live nowadays?

It honestly depends on what the benefits are of having school all year. If there is a way to complete two grades in 12 months, then I am all for it. If not, why work longer for the same result?

Yes, I was always bored during the first two or three weeks of school while the teacher refreshed us on what we had learned the year before. If school were year round, we wouldn't need to waste those two weeks reminding us what we have already learned.
