no, it means that church leaders dont want thier members seeing it, because it is false things being portrayed as truth, and they dont want people to accendently beleive something they hear. The bible is truth, thats so much more better to spead your time on than the DaVinci Code. And is it banned? i dont think so , but its just not recommended. If you know where you are spiritually and know that Jesus is real and that he lived the perfect live, died and God raised him from the dead, and he took away our sins, and took our punishment, and you are firm in that, then you have no problem seeing it, athough you are watching false info, and that is not good.

It is about protecting the Truth. Heresy is pointed out so that people know what NOT to believe.

Did you know that Opus Dei--the faction of the Catholic Church that the movie distorts is actually just a bunch of ordinary people that want to help others get to Heaven and to get there themselves, just by living good lives. If only you knew the Truth!

I will pray for all who believe in the devils deceptions.

Hello.... Da Vinci code is a novel. A novel is a work of fiction. Maybe some people want to ban it because others will look at it like the truth and try to destroy the christian faith even more.

Though they ban The Da Vinci Code, I know many will try seeing that film or the story out of curiosity!

The DaVinci Code is fiction. However, that doesn't change the fact that 'They' are afraid of anything that questions of devalues their mythology.

It's because the church thinks that movies are real. Just like they think God is real. Just like they probably are out watching Superman today thinking to themselves "Whoa, I'm glad we have that guy on our planet, he can really do some good. Thank you god for sending him here."

I don't know if it means they are afraid of truth, but rather, they are afraid of questioning of their perception of the truth. Maybe they're afraid that they will also start to question their faith.
