At home my parents have the same marble everywhere, including the bathroom.

At my place we just started putting tile, that turned out to be too heavy so we switched it with the one we're using for the floors.

What does everyone think? Too weird to have the same tile in your living room and master bathroom?

Thanks

It is not weird, but in order for it to look good only go half way up the wall.

If you do that make sure to paint the top half first covering a small portion under the highest row of tiles. This way you don't need to cut in when you are done tiling.

I have recently tiled an entire bathroom myself. Granite is heavy lol.

Besides if a master bathroom and a living room are connected something is wrong. If the two room are not even connected then you'll be fine. The only thought in your mind should be,"Do I want to see this tile all the time?"

marble is a fine tile that no matter where you put it, it will always look good and elegant...nonetheless, if you put to much everywhere it looses the meaning of the marble tile....because it should only be use as a standout material in a standout area, like the kitchen, living room, master bath, even the master bedroom or dining.....but you can mix it with other material that is similar to it, and make a contrast with a design in the floor.....in your case tile is fine and try to do the wainscot which is about a 36" to 42" height from the floor.....and use a color that is not so bright or too colorful....that is if you want to standout the wainscot tile from the walls....use wood moldings or tile molding or cantera molding at the top the of the wainscot....that will make a great accent in your home but like a said, try not to put it everywhere in the house, only in certain areas of the house.....if you want more information email at israelmoya20@yahoo.com

After installing thousands of sq. ft. of tile I know this much,,,The customer is always right.

That said, I've installed, as you state, and in varying colors, textures, and types, through homes and commercial establishments where the customer did want differences.

The issue, for me, is to suggest a quality product certainly. One that the pattern goes all the way through the tile, for multiple reasons, and in a transition situation two tiles should at least compliment each other, not be a drastic difference. NOW,,,having said that, and knowing that the customer is who I'm trying to please, I suggest it really makes very little difference if for example, the public has limited if any, viewing access to either the master Bed room, or bath.

Beyond that it's possible that in purchasing one type, there are discounts, or consessions by the seller/installer, to go with a flow of all the same type?

Having the same tile everywhere can bring a whole house or apartment together not only literally but also aesthetically...if the choice in color and pattern is wise. Most people would opt. for separation of living space and bathroom space. But basically it's up to the owners...cause... they are the ones who have to live in it. I personally like subtle separations of color. The colors/patterns can be in the same family but with subtle color changes. For instance One light shade ( some exciting pattern ) for the foyer and living room because the two work together...you greet folks thru the doorway and foyer and lead them to the living room. The bedrooms a slightly darker shade but not as an exciting pattern. The kitchen the darkest tone floor to hide traffic prints. Thresholds should all be the same "Medium Tone" and/or pattern. The bathroom the lightest tone of all with the most subtle pattern of tiles to deal with some traffic prints.
You really should feel calm and at ease when doing your business, don't you agree?

Why not put a marble tile mural in your bathroom-- It will give you a low cost, dramatic, focal point, that will break up the tiles-- Lots of Tuscan landscapes to choose from- or how about Van Gogh's Starry Night-- that is really popular

If I were a guest I might be kind of vaguely weirded out. Feeling like I was still in the bathroom when I'm in the living room. If guests never go to the master bath and you can live with it, and you don't think it detracts from your resale value, then do what you want.

both use teal or milk chocolate shades, in spite of color you opt for particularly of utilizing an same in each and every of the rooms you should use diverse colorations/tones so the rooms blend yet dont look the very same! for instance in case you chosen pink cushions, attempt some lilac candles, or darkish blue with diminished blues! desire this helps! :) look at a paint chart to ascertain the complimentary shades and the distinct colorations!

If the color and finish are tasteful, you can continue a decorating theme throughout the house.

Sounds really unique! I bet you'll end up liking it very much.
