Easy -- there is no such thing as "a" devil. It's "the" devil, and he's Satan. Demons are, from what I can tell, his spiritual presence within a person on earth.

Some would say no, But if you look into it you'll find a difference. If I were to overly simplify it Devils or Thee Devil are fallen angels IE Satan , and his conspirators. Devil comes from the word IDiabolos mean slanderer or liar. Demons are more evil spirits. IWould be most likely Consensus. Although when you look real deep into the word demon comes from daimon which is an inferior deity, an attendant spirit. Sometimes likened to an Angel in some texts. May also be refered to as a Daemon who is half devine hald mortal.

In reality, nothing because both are just figments of an overactive human imagination. In D&D demons and Devils are powerful beings, the man difference is that Devils live in the nine hells, while demons live in the abyss. Devils are evil, but will use laws and live in an ordered society, while demons are evil and live in a chaotic society. They are at war with eachother and will be at war with eachother forever.

Devils and demons are all the same. Just two different words for the same thing. According to the Bible, Satan and his followers(other devils or demons) were cast out of heaven for their rebelleous acts against God. So there is more than one devil/demons. They do not have cloven hooves, pointed tails, horns and colored red. They are rebelleous angels that have been thrown out of heaven to earth.

the Devil is satan. He is also a demon. A demon is just a fallen angel where the Devil is commonly considered to be a specific demon.

The only difference is ranks...Because before they were devils or evil spirits they were angels...and angels have ranks
Cherubim seraphim's,,hosts choirs and so on,,,
evil spirits are demons(which is not actually in the bible) they were called evil spirits in general but .....they had names implying rank.......legions imps which imply smaller evil spirits...but really it is the evil spirit who's task may be lesser
In all actuality Lucifer was not the strongest angel(evil spirit)
He was just the one who deceived the others
There are other stronger angels who are locked in Hell because they would do harm to man...physically if they were unchained...you can read about them in Revelations

Bottom line it is depending on the task of the devil evil spirit or demon ...but there is no difference in the name just the strength
God bless

The Devil is another name for Satan. The demons are the angels that followed him out of Heaven.

Someone mentioned that Satan created the demons. Satan cannot create, he can only give illusions or destruction, but not creation.

Demons are what the devil has made to do his work/bidding. God made angels. They are for good, satan made demons for bad works and such.
