Depends on what is causing your bad breath. Sometimes it is due to bacteria in your mouth that causes periodontal or gum disease. This can be helped by getting treatment. Same goes for any smell that could be caused by decaying teeth.
Also make sure you scrap your tongue when you brush (scraping works better than brushing, grab a scraper in the detnal aisle). Lots of bacteria collect on the tongue. You can also use a mouthwash without alcohol, I really like the Breath Rx rinse, which you can now buy at drug stores. Mouthwashes with alcohol will actually end up drying your mouth out more and causing more bad breath! No Listerine!
Do you have allergies? If you do it may be sinus drainage. This really is only helped by reducing the drainage with medication.
So there is no for sure answer, except see your dentist and if needed see your medical doctor too.

well, first of all, you have to determine the main cause of bad breath/hallitosis...sometimes, it's not just a dental problem but because of your internal organs. go consult a doctor. you may need to cleanse your entire system... do detox or colon irrigation.
