No. Because I don't like the idea that I'm not in control of my life.

As Muslims, we believe that everything was written down for our lives before we were born. Cal that fate.
But we as people don't know the future, so we must try our best and strive and struggle in this life.
"Say: "Nothing shall ever happen to us except what Allah has ordained for us. He is our Maula (Lord, Helper and Protector)." And in Allah let the believers put their trust. " {The Noble Quran 9:51}
The Prophet said, "Allah has appointed an angel in the womb, and the angel says, 'O Lord! A drop of discharge (i.e. of semen), O Lord! a clot, O Lord! a piece of flesh.' And then, if Allah wishes to complete the child's creation, the angel will say. 'O Lord! A male or a female? O Lord! wretched or blessed (in religion)? What will his livelihood be? What will his age be?' The angel writes all this while the child is in the womb of its mother." {{Islamic tradition/sunnah}}
"And with Him are the keys of the Ghaib (all that is hidden), none knows them but He. And He knows whatever there is in (or on) the earth and in the sea; not a leaf falls, but he knows it. There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth nor anything fresh or dry, but is written in a Clear Record." {{Qur'an 6/59}}
Allah's Messenger said: "Only supplication averts the decree, only kindness prolongs life, and a man is deprived of provision for a fault he commits." {{Islamic Tradition/Sunnah}}

Yes if you are faithful to God, your fate will be sure and you will go to heaven. Everyone else I guess makes there own fate - the Bible says there is a way that seems right to a man but the end thereof is destruction. Trust in God because our natural self will lead us to destruction since we were born in sin and shapen in iniquity.

I do believe in fate. I think my husband and I were suppose to find each other and we are soul mates.

Well if the universe is infinite, it means that infinite randomness exists. If infinity exists, that means that everything is destined to happen. Science will tell wether fate exists. My guess then will be YES.

I believe our whole lives are preordained. God has planned it all. Some folks may call it fate. Others call it the will of God.

you are on this world to do a job that is to improve your spirit or soul.
On that way you have a destiny or faith, that is you are born with impairments or take part in a car accident that puts you in a wheelchair all your good deeds and suffering are going to elevate your soul.
Remember there will moments of happiness as well as moment of tremendous sense of loss, but is your life you can make better or worse.

No, I believe that people shape their lives largely by their own choices, and I believe that in other cases, it's the environment and the choices of others that shape their lives.

I believe that we choose everything that happens to us in life. Sometimes on an unconscious level, but for every action, one has to look at the possible outcome. You may say, 'But I did not choose for my wife to leave me!', but when you really think about it honestly, you will realise that you did-- by your behaviour,actions,thoughts. For some people, life happens TO them because they dont want to take responsibility for their actions.
