There were very few teachers talking about global warming 45 years ago. One of the few was Al Gore's Professor who was one of the very first scientists working on global warming. Al was so impressed by that work that he has devoted his political life to working to reverse it. It was not until about 10-15 years ago that a scientific consensus started to form behind global warming. It is now settled science (in spite of what you will read here there is no credible debate about the reality or the cause of global warming). We have of course wasted the last 8 years because Bush was installed by SCOTUS. Those were important years that we could have made a good start on but no. That is very frustrating.

We're so slow in acting because everyone wants to debate over this rather than do something, just like with every other situation. We aren't going to change things because we haven't finished talking them out!

Because people are saying now, "Oh, it's gonna be awhile before it hits. It won't effect me in my lifetime, so I'm not gonna worry about it." And then nobody does anything about it.

I also remember some 30 years ago about the fear of "the next ice age".....so what was with that??????? Now it is global warming.....
