If you would have used spell check it would have fixed the words that you ran together without spaces.

Corrected with spell check:

The point of flossing is...?

Okay, that is gross. Most people don't do that, or at least most the people that I have seen!
But on to the more important issue, why it is important. Flossing does remove food and debris between the teeth but the more important reason to do it is to disrupt the bacteria that is underneath your gums. This bacteria causes periodontal (gum) disease. When you floss past where the teeth contact, you remove anything that could cause a cavity. You really need to curve the floss and go underneath the tissue and scrub (no quick flick!), this disrupts the bacteria that is floating under the gums. Disrupting this bacteria on a regular basis (normally every 12-24 hours) insures the bacteria does not band together and start eating away at your tissue and bone. Great visual isn't it? I always say you want to break up the party going on, because if you don't the party is going to end very badly.

The point of flossing is to remove the trapped food between the teeth that can sit there for days and rot and start to give you a bad breath. The rotting food causes cavities in teeth. So no flossing means cavities in teeth!

Okay, that's just discusting! I wipe off the piece of floss or get a new piece. Who actually thinks, "Hmm, that little speck of food has been stuck between my teeth for hours now since the last time I ate... yum, I think I'll put that back in my mouth." Yuck!!

Gross! When I floss my teeth I spit mine in the sink and then use a different spot on the strand. I usually will get a new piece for the top and a new one for the bottom.

Flossing cleans teeth and keeps the gums healthy.

The point is not to take the food out of your mouth, but out from the interdental spaces. When it sits there it creates favorable conditions for bacteria to mutiply. Also it helps removing some tartar.

That's disgusting. I think (I hope) most people flush the floss after they're done without putting that gunk back in their mouths.
