Have your ends trimmed regularly, about every 6-8 weeks. I use Garnier Fructis Shampoo/Conditoner and it helps a lot!
Keep in mind that the more you spend on hair care products, the better quality you will find.

Instead of paying a small fortune on hot oil treatments, use this:
Go to the grocery store and get 100% Vegetable Oil- it doesn't matter if it is a brand name or a generic name. Just make sure it is 100% Vegetable Oil.
Bring it home and place a few teaspoonfuls in a microwavable bowl and microwave for 60 seconds. Work threw your strands of hair, specifically aimed to the middle of your hair strands and down to the ends. Leave in your hair one hour. Then use a shampoo specifically designed for dry and brittle hair. You won't need to use conditioner at this point. Towel dry your hair and avoid using a blow dryer for awhile.
Do this hair treatment once every two weeks(twice a month). You will see a noticeable difference in the weeks to come.
Good luck to you and I hope I was some what helpful!

Dry brittle hair can be caused by one or all of the following factors: over exposure to the sun, chemical processes, under-conditioning, hereditary, poor elasticity, over use of appliances or drying styling products.
1. Get regular trims every 6-8 weeks to trim off the spilt ends
2. Cut back on blow drying
3. When blow-drying, force the air in he direction of your hair growth so you don't disturb the cuticle anymore then you have to.
4. Use gentle cleansing shampoos
5. Use daily conditioners and even better, use a leave-in conditioner as well
6. Rinse with cool water as your final rinse to close the cuticle and prevent further damage.
7. Avoid shampoos that are clear in color. These shampoos are refereed to as plain shampoos. Plain shampoos contain little to no moisturizer. Opt for a pearlized one that is made for dry, damaged hair. Shampoo is important but no as much as conditioner.
8. Keep use of heating products to a minimum if possible. And always use a styling product that specifically protects hair during heat process.
9. Scalp treatments can do wonders. Ask your Stylist if she offers this service. Not only does it stimulate hair growth and condition your hair, it feels great!
10. Use products that don't contain alcohol
11. Deep condition at least 2 times a week. Apply the conditioner to clean, damp hair. Put a shower cap on and hit it with the blow dryer. This will open up the cuticle and condition your hair better.
12. Avoid shampoos that are clear in color. These shampoos are refereed to as plain shampoos. Plain shampoos contain little to no moisturizer. Opt for a pearlized one that is made for dry, damaged hair. Shampoo is important but no as much as conditioner.

Hask Placenta. You can get it in a box of 3-5 little vials in the hair care aisle of Walgreens and K-mart, and probably other stores. You can also buy a spray bottle of it at Sally's Beauty Supply.
I dye my hair every month, and change colors frequently. My hair is down past my waist and the Hask Placenta keeps it healthy. If I skip a week of using it, my hair starts to feel dry and brittle.

I would use olive oil - pack your hair with it, concentrating on the ends, which tend to be the driest & most brittle, & wrap it up in a towel; take a long hot bath or a steamy shower to let the oil soak in to your hair. Then wash & condition. I've even seen advice that said using a mayonnaisse pack can help it & make is shiny.
Good luck!

It really depends... when I used Pantene, my hair started falling off! I use shampoos that aren't too "strong" for my hair, and I do an alternate patern. Like today, I used shampoo, and on the next day, I'll use conditioner. Don't experiment on your hair too much. I used this certain shampoo, and my hair went from jet black to brown! Really an ugly memory.

Mayo.
Work into hair, wrap in towel, leave in for 20 minutes to an hour.
Wash out.
Limit the processes done to your hair. Blow dryers, curling irons, perms and color will only damage your hair more.

Pantene shampoo and conditioner for dry britttle hair( or Redken)

You should start by taking a multivitamin. Because vitamins contribute to healthy hair, skin and nails, if you are diffitiant in any of them can have adverse effects. GNC has a hair, skin, and nails formula pill that can help.
