I'm a guy who's not exactly great looking (but not ugly either lol!). I tend to also be a bit shy around new people and it takes me a while to be myself around new people. However, put these two things together and it makes meeting/chatting up ladies pretty tricky! Without saying 'just be yourself' (thats the problem!!) can anyone give me some tips??

Do you belong to a church or to any groups? Getting to know a woman in a group-type of situation will probably be easier than just approaching someone in the grocery store. Get involved in a book club, or a car club, or a singles group - anything that you are honestly interested in. Do you have a dog? Go to the dog park at the same time everyday, and you'll start to see the same people. Start with a nod of acknowledgment, then move up to a "hi", and then next time mention the weather. Once you know the woman a little better, and she knows you better, I think it will be much easier to start a conversation - especially if you share a common interest. Looks are not the #1 trait that most women look for in a man. Pay attention to what she's saying, ask questions, don't just talk about yourself, and take an interest in her day and what she likes. Be honest, and don't try to project an image of someone you're not. If you remain true to yourself, you have a much better chance of finding the 'right' woman.
If you try to attract women by acting like you have a lot of money, you will ONLY attract women who are attracted to men who have a lot of money. Not all women are like that.

Personally in my opinion...your personality. Sure you may be shy (don't feel bad..so am I) but if a woman is interested in you she can tell that you are shy, and usually the shy guys are the nice guys. Personality to me means more than anything. So if you have a good heart and a good head on those shoulders that's all that matters and it should mean more than anything. Plus actions speak louder than words. If you're really nice to everyone and say please and thank you and all that fun stuff, you'll get someone's attention because there are hardly too many guys left out there who are nice and polite. So let the shyness be a part of you, sometimes we think it's really cute and we realize the amount of courage it took for you to come up here and talk to us. So don't be too afraid to get out there and try a few things. As my buddy once told me, all they can do is say no. That's the worst that could happen. And hey at least then they didn't say no when you go to get married to them!!!

Personality is very important make a woman laugh and you have a friend for life. Just strike up a conversation about the weather or something that you already know the answer to, act as if you don't know just to get her to talk. Stop being shy! If you are in the mall ask the person which shades look better etc....

ok seriously you have to get the nerve to talk to the ladies but dont come with just any pick up line or start flirting with them out of nowhere. firstly try not to show that you want to start going out with them. be be a friendly gentlemen to them and you'll see the attention you get!!

If a woman cant accept you for you, then she isnt worth your time. You need to learn how to build up your self esteem by not saying that you are a non-great looking guy.

Step out of your normal self and go be brash for once, see if you like it. Stand up to yourself and go hit on the hottest lady you can find... if she doesn't dig you, move on to the next one. Ladies respond to confidence, find yours.
