Unfortunately there are no completely shedless dogs, but I've included a link for hypoallergenic dogs.. They are either short haired with minimal shedding or long haired with minimal shedding. All dogs will shed at least once a year.. Usually around the spring or summer time to lose their dead fur and grow in their lighter summer coat. But as most of us know there are a few breeds that just don't stop! The link is from Wikipedia.com a site i use frequently! It gives a list of dogs and detailed information about each breed listed. Good luck in your search and I hope this was helpful!

How big is medium to you? Standard Schnauzers, Kerry Blue Terriers and Portugese Water Dogs don't shed. Neither do Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers, but I don't recommend them - they can be really wild and flaky. Also, remember - dogs that don't shed will have to be brushed a LOT - and their beards will often be wet and slimy from drool and drinking and eating. English Springer Spaniels don't shed much and they're great dogs - sweet and easy to train. The shorthaired dogs that some people mentioned often shed a LOT.

Some claim that there is no such thing as a non-shedding dog, but we have had our Bedlington Terrior for 4 years and I've never seen a shedded hair.
Good news - great disposition, seldom barks, floppy, soft and distinctive looks. Bad news - requires professional grooming every 6 weeks.

Boxers are great! I had one for 15 years (he passed last year). They can get up to 80 pounds but with their short coat, they hardly shed at all. They are great with kids and also make good watch dogs.

Boxers are great dogs, especially to protect children, however they get quite large. A Wire Head Fox Terrier is also a great dog and a lot smaller.

A Miniature Poodle! Poodles shed little to no hair and are good for allergy sufferers. They are super smart, sensitive and highly-trainable companion dogs too!
