with the plethera of evidence that homosexuality is prevelent, indeed comon place in the animal kingdom, it is now being acceptaed that this behaviour is evolutionary and is not an evolution deadend as previously thought.

some examples

Male big horn sheep live in what are often called "homosexual societies." They bond through genital licking and anal intercourse, which often ends in ejaculation. If a male sheep chooses to not have gay sex, it becomes a social outcast. Ironically, scientists call such straight-laced males "effeminate."

Giraffes have all-male orgies. So do bottlenose dolphins, killer whales, gray whales, and West Indian manatees. Japanese macaques, on the other hand, are ardent lesbians; the females enthusiastically mount each other. Bonobos, one of our closest primate relatives, are similar, except that their lesbian sexual encounters occur every two hours. Male bonobos engage in "penis fencing," which leads, surprisingly enough, to ejaculation.

some issues to address. First, there is not any info of a gay gene. social gathering: The offspring of gay father and mom do no longer have a higher price of being gay. If there turned right into a gay gene, then the offspring of gay father and mom s hould have a higher probability of being gay themselves. That suggested, the concept that one is born gay does no longer recommend there's a gay gene. There are a mess of issues that impression the embryo/fetus for the time of progression. assorted the study into homosexuality is pointing to a gestational difficulty, no longer a gene. i will use myself as an social gathering, because it will be a lot less complicated to entice close. i become born listening to-impaired, besides the undeniable fact that it's not genetic. it really is likewise no longer using a ailment or ailment my mom had at the same time as pregnant (consisting of measles which has been proper to deafness and blindness of offspring if shrunk at the same time as the female is pregnant). So something only befell that brought about some nerves to no longer strengthen precise. Now, thus far as evolution, provided that homosexuality isn't genetic, thus far as we can tell, it does no longer impression evolution or reproduction fairly as you imagine. look on the heritage, heck even now, gay people usually get married and stay heterosexual lives, now and again in denial of their real orientation, and performance little ones. in the previous, they were in all probability to easily bypass to their grave by no skill admitting to anybody how they felt, yet at present, they'd later say "honey, i'm gay. i favor a divorce." Futhermore, homosexuality is actual no longer new. all around the organic and organic international there are species with some factor of homosexuality. I doubt that is going to regulate. EDIT to those above me: there is not any info that there is a homosexuality gene, neither is there info that it reduces reproduction and inhabitants.

First, animals have mating cycles and it is almost impossible for any male animal to get an erection without the sent of a female estrogen, therefore animals are not practising homosexual sexual activies.

You forgot to mention hermaphodites or cell division. Humans are created by cell division. The female cell is incomplete without the male half, then it becomes a full cell, as opposed to an Aomeba, which has complete DNA at all times.

Heterosexual men exhibit some of the behaviour and we've all seen it. We call them the "good ol boys" and they hang out at bars, usually without a girl. They drink together, slap each other on the back and when a queer boy comes in they all take him outside and whoop him real good, together, slap each other on the back and go back in to have another beer!

The Bible says like should be with like. Hassidic Jews don't dance in public with the opposite sex. Men dance with men. Women dance with women.

They are on different sides of the room at religioius gatherings or in the synnnogage.

If anything it's the homosexual "stigma" that keeps men from getting closer, but if everyone will take note in all Baltic and some other Europen nations men open mouth kiss men.

Nikita Khruschev did that to cosmonaught Uri Gragarian when he returned to EArth, right on TV.

He planted a big one, right on his mouth.

Do that in America or England the those Good Ol Boys will take you out back and show you what a baseball bat is really used for!

It's quite common for girls to fast dance with girls between the age of 12 and 15. I've seen many a birthday party where the boys stand against the wall (because they are 15, have no license and no Camero -- boys don't get balls until they have a car) so the girls dance with each other and the parents think nothing of this.

Girls are affectionate with each other. They kiss each other on the cheeks all the time. Let guys try that and watch out for those Good Ol Boys!

This is caused by stigma.

I had two male cats and they'd sleep with each other, one with the head on the other's back or belly. They'd groom each other.

That don't make them homosexual, just uninhibited.

If one tried to snif the other's rear (that mating ritual) the other would turn and hiss. Then they'd be grooming each other a half hour later.

As for homosexuality, itself, there are two distinct kinds. One (true homosexuality) is when at age 4 or 5 you find you like the same sex and are atrracted to them far more than the opposite sex.

The other comes from having no luck with the opposite sex in your desires to get gratification. This happens after puberty and is often caused by being over weight, having bad skin, personality disorders (such as rudeness all the time) that turn the opposite sex off. These, then, turn towards anyone that will gratify them.

This second group I define, as I would heteros who go in for gratification above all else, are sinful.

The first group are a part of the plan and I don't question that. No free will was involved.

The second group, free will, choice, was required. They choose to do this for purient reasons and for no other reason.

The same applies to heteros who do it for purient reasons. They are no better, no worse.

When you have no free will because God dictates what you should be, you can't be faulted. You are a pawn in the plan. Here for a reason. How you handle it, how you behave, what you do as a result of this is, however, free will. Your choice.

Everyone should chose wisely.

I'm not sure of all your "facts" but obviously some homosexual behavior occurs in the animal kingdom. But don't make it sound like it is the most prevelant course of sexual activity. It obviously isn't. Animals are biologically programmed with a sex drive with one primary purpose...to reproduce. I don't believe sex drive is primarily for self pleasure or bonding although there is a component of that.

But good discussion and topic to get the anti-gays and homophobes stirred up like hornets.

I hope they don't try to have your question removed. It is legitimate.

Logically this is ridiculous.

Homosexuality is the end of the nature chain if you believe that.

Why? Because there is no reproduction.

If you use nature as an example.... things that are unnatural DO NOT reproduce. The Donkey...and many other fruits and vegetables that we have crossed DO NOT reproduce.

Your comment just shows that people and animals are depraved.
Think about your logic.

Only the christians who don't let religion get in the way of their ability to think. Any who accept the reality of evolution shouldn't have a problem with it, but you never know.

For those not in the know, read Bruce Bagemihl's book, "Biological Exuberance". Scientists have been observing homosexual behaviour in the wild for 200 years, but were afraid to report it for fear of losing their funding.

I am not overly religious. However, I do believe in God, and that God is the higher power over all of us. I have a hard time believing that God hates anyone, or anything. I was watching a show that Oprah did last week, with 3 famous males that are gay. And one of the men made the following comment, that I absolutely had to agree with.. "I have a hard time believing that God would create anything or anyone, in his image, that he supposedly hates." How true. God loves each and everyone of us, black, white, purple, green, gay, or straight!!!!

I have heard it said that very religious people have evolved a higher level of "group mentality", where they are willing to forgo individualistic thought in exchange for the safety of the group. so in a sense you are asking these people to give up what makes them successfull in evolutionary terms. not likely I would say.

There is was a tradition among gnostic Christians that Jesus was gay and used to spend nights naked in a cave with male initiates to his band. there is at least one ancient document about this although the church persecuted them as heretics and destroyed their literature
