I am just not atracted to big girls. It especially sucks if you are dating someone and they start to gain weight. But I don't know if honesty in that situation outweighs hurting their feelings. Any thought?

I would never actually do this. I just want to see the responses. My most likely response would be I am not interested or I am not available.
If I was dating someone and they were gaining weight, I would definately tell them, and help them stay active.
Its not only a physical atraction thing to me, its a lifestyle thing. I can't be with someone that cannot take care of their body or be very active playing sports and taking part in outdoors activities. I am physically atracted to skinny girls, but more importantly I connect with people who care a great deal about their bodies and staying healthy. Being overweight is a symptom that does not fit with that mindset.

It is mean to tell someone you dont want to date them because they are overweight, just tell them that they arent your type. If you are with someone and they start to put on weight then you shouldnt say anything about it but just suggest that the two of you start doing more active stuff like sports to stay healthy.

You don't have to give a specific reason if you don't want to date someone. You are entitled to date whomever you choose, for whatever reason. I would never tell someone I didn't want to date them because of their weight though, that would hurt them bad.

Of course it's mean. And anyway how shallow are you? You stop liking a person just because she gains weight?

when you are truely happy to be with someone you won't mind a little extra weight or you will find a way to be helpful to help them lose it...in the meantime, no don't tell someone that you are not interested because they are overweight

You can't help who you are and aren't attracted to. Be honest, without being brutal. If a girl approaches you who you are not attracted to and is thin, what do you tell her? Say something like you're not interested. Don't say, "I can't date you, you're too fat." Treat the girl how you would want your sister to be treated.
