The concept of Satan has changed over the centuries. In the book of Job (one of the older books of the Bible) Satan is counted among the heavenly beings and participates in a council-of-sorts (like a holy Cabinet meeting) in which Satan and God discuss the merits of one of God's faithful servants, Job. In the end, God agrees to allow Satan to afflict Job in order to test his resolve and his faithfulness.

It's only later on in history that Satan takes on the persona of the Prince of Darkness, of God's rival and enemy. Jewish sects that wished to break from orthodox Judaism used the imagery of a we-versus-they, God-versus-Satan apocalyptic battle (i.e., Armageddon) to emphasize the fact that they were the true believers and the rest of their Jewish brothers and sisters were on the wrong side.

NO, you've got it all wrong... Satan had better PR than Jesus... He wanted to act as if he's poor guy, bewildered and weak so people will be fooled and think he's nobody or doent exist while in reality most of us are doing his work for him, without even knowing...

The PR was from Gods word, so I believe it. Jesus is a million times better, come on.

Well according to the biblical mythology, Satan hijacked the universe and god didn't like him. But Satan didn't get a chance to tell his side of the story. I think what Satan represents is freedom. While god gives you bibles and bitter slavery and teaches how to kill infidels, Satan gives you fun. I think that poor angel has not received the credit he deserves. Lucifer is the best one though, she's gives knowledge. That's why she is the "light-bearer" and the darkness (perfect ignorance) has always hated her.

Satan gets a bad rap, but he's a good guy.

Satan just wants you to be happy, he just expresses himself wrong. Jesus says no to McDonald's and Satan's like, "Have a Happy Meal."

Satan has already been defeated by Jesus Christ at the cross.
He knows the end is near so he trying deceive all who will worship him or take his mark (666). Needles to say he will have plenty of company with him in hell, probably playing poker with Arafat,Hitler, Nero,Cesear and Al-Zarqawi.

I believe Satan was an archangel at one time, then he made a take-over bid which failed. In his current position, he really doesn't need a public relations agent - you can't BUY the word-or-mouth publicity he gets.
