If my dog is feverish I can give him aspirin, what can I give my kitty. I had him to the vet and he gave me drops to put in his ear, (very hard to put 2 drops in his ear) he has a fit. This is second time around for this, thought maybe if something similar to aspirin would also help. Any suggesitons?

well all cats give their people a hard time when it comes to meds, i always put my cat in a blanket to put eye drops in her eyes, becuz theyre infected, but if his ear is not getting any better try giving the vet a call again, he knows the condition of the cat and has his records, so ask him what you can do and what would be easier on yourself as well as the cat, for the meds, i wouldnt give him anything other than what the vet perscribes for you, the dog's digestive system is much more balanced than a cats so dont give him any meds that the doctor does not perscrbie if you ask him im sure he can give you something else. but its up to him, giving an animal meds that the doc didnt give permission for can lead to serious health problems ive lost so many animals becuz of it and i wont let that happen again, i had a lady watch my animals for me ive had over 15 yrs for all of them and she watched for two weeks and my dogs were constantly in an ER vet clinic until they had no choice but to put them to sleep from suffering too much. so just be careful with what you give your animal you never know with them being pets, what can harm them, like what their bodies can adjust to and what they cant

NEVER GIVE YOUR CAT ANY HUMAN MEDICATIONS WITHOUT CHECKING WITH YOUR VET FIRST.
Contact your vets office and see if it is advisable to give kitty aspirin, I have heard of and read articles that are
both pro and con on this. Mostely bad.
Personally some answers on yahoo can be very misleading, I have seen answers here that if followed you would probably be burying your cat the next day.
Since you have already taken your cat to the vets for this problem, he would be your best source of information.
If your cat really does have an ear infection the vet should be able to prescribe some antibiotics

My dog recently had an ear infection and as much as I hated cleaning them out and putting in the drops, if you don't go through the routine everyday the infection will keep coming back. I'm not sure if this is the case with you though, just make sure you put the drops in everyday.

There is hope. If you get your cat used to this routine, it will get easier. My cat is prone to getting yeast in his ears, and I clean them regularly. Now, it's a piece of cake, and sometimes, if I catch him in the right mood, he'll even purr while I'm doing it.

There are no otc pain meds that are ok for cats. Ear infections need antibiotics so you need to see your vet.

Cronic ear infections can be related to vaccinations.

Dont talk to me as if i aint looking after my baby boy.you obviosly dont have a kid so dont anwser questions if you have no idea.i was only looking for the amount he should be feeding as a guideline coz health visitors always stick to a rule book and dont understand real life like you.
