I used to be a know-it-all. Later, I learned that I didn't know it all. Now I get a kick out of showing know-it-alls that they didn't know as much as they thought they did.

Read Plato's dialogues of Socrates. This was his specialty....keep asking questions...make them explain it and they will sound more and more ridiculous.

I aim to be compassionate toward all people. I deal with the public a lot in my job and most are very easy to deal with seem to appreciate my help.

A few people try to tell me I'm doing it wrong -- usually someone from another state with different state laws. I try to be patient.

When my patience is tried, I kind of drop into "machine mode," and tend to speak with less emotion, more flatly. Sometimes I just repeat what I said each time they tell my how wrong I am.

I am glad to acknowledge when I am wrong, and that is one reason I find it easy to get along with most people -- they hate coverups (as do I) and appreciate being spoken to truthfully.

It's never my goal to prove that I am smarter than someone, just to be helpful by sharing my area of expertise.

A good question..deserves a suitable answer.I used to be something ,sort of know-it-all,and more I thought of my rightuousness, more I frustrated myself and experienced the negative reaction from the others.Right now I am only enough smart..With those around me posing like know-it-all I get rid of them so simply, showing my indifference.

I think that the best method is to prove them wrong. But then again, some know-it-alls are incurable and they will still manage to convince themselves that they are right no matter what.

Just let them say what they are going to to say and get it over, but it usually goes in one ear and out the other.
