Just a few make you earn it, from things you normally do.
Some chiefs do the naming, or ok the name chosen for you.

Find out what Indian Heritage You are. Then Contact The National Association Of Indian Affairs for the Tribes Name. Good Luck.

Why do you want an indian name? What do you mean by an Indian name? Which indian? Native indian of the americas or hindu indian name? Why do you want to change your name? DO you not like your name? Why did you not tell that to your mom, man? Today we have all kinds of people calling themselves wearing saffron or white clothes and calling themselves swamis. Does that make them swamis? Others like me wear western clothes when I am really very desi at heart. Does that change anything? Be proud to have the name you were given at birth and be who you are. Why do you want to change a name? I have a very beautiful name and the government will not allow me to change all my documents. Life is a XXXXX.

No offense intended, but do you THINK that you have some "Indian blood?" It seems that just about EVERYBODY claims to be "part Indian" at some time in their life. As far as a name, I have no idea. Let me suggest that you really try to PROVE that you are "part Indian," don't go with ---- "My great grandmother was half Cherokee," or, "My daddy told me that I am "part Indian." No offense intended.

Very simple, take help of your Indian freinds, they will inlist you Indian names and choose a name, they tell you depending upon on your need and choice
