My brother recently confided in me that he is a cross dresser i am ok with that and actually feel that we are clsoer now i certainly prefer "her" much happier and relaxed person than "him". Anyway its still early days but i would like to buy a gift to show i accept the situation something girly i suppose but i'm not sure what to get without causing embarasment any ideas.

Firstly, good for you for being such an accepting and understanding sister.
How about one of those mirrors wth the lights around it, where your image is magnified a bit - this would probably be good for your brother in getting used to applying make-up and tweezing stray hairs.

Thank you for accepting your brother. You no doubt are one of his heros in life. As for the gift. Perhaps something that is a good gift not just a gift for the crossdressing side. Perhaps a spa treatment, some nice bath salts or lotions. Something he can indulge in no matter what he feels like wearing or not wearing. Just because you know and accept his crossdressing doesn't mean you should change the gifts you normally would buy him.

A gift card is always good make it to a shop that carries both men's and women's things in your brothers size. So that he can pick out something nice. If you feel comfortable with it suggest you both go out together and shop for some things. that way he can ask your opinion and develop a sense of the true acceptance from you.

I had a friend who was a cross dresser (male to female) and she said when she came out she wanted to know what make up to get and how to apply it also what the best girly pampering things were cos she didn't have a clue where to start..so my idea is why don't you have a girly night in with her and have a pampering sesh?

A gift card is always good, but better--why not take her shopping?? That way you could both enjoy the experience! It could be a lot of fun for both of you to go pick out a dress, or make-up, or jewelry, or books . . .

good on you girl!! for accepting her without passing judgments..... i think a rational things to do now is to go out on a shopping "spree" together and pick out things that you both might like!
just to show her that you are really, truly, and sincerely able to accept her without gagging at the thought of her cross dressing! this is just a sign of complete acceptance. and besides, what have you gotta lose (except for some cash...lol) and you two get to bond, and that's priceless!

so good luck babe!

First off, it's wonderful that you so supportive of your brother no matter what he does. I would probably get him maybe jewels or a gift certificate so that he can buy something on his own and he'll still know that the gift came from you.

How nice that you are able to accept your brothers lifestyle.
I think it would be nice to buy him something personal and feminine such as jewelry to remind him of your love and support, maybe a locket with a photo of you both together with your brother in all his girly finery.

You could always buy her something that she could relax in in the evening such as a nice housecoat or nice pyjama set so when you go to visit it would be nice to relax with her sister and feel comfortable and more importantly supported.

I 'came out' as a cross dresser about a year and a half ago. I suggest you ask him if there's anything he'd like, but if you'd like to surprise him try getting him a little make up set.
