I started my weight loss in autumn of 2004, and I remember feeling determined and nervous when I first started. I started a food journal and started going to the gym 3-4 days a week. I started to lose rather quickly (at a rate of about 2lbs a week), so I felt encouraged because I was seeing results fast. I told everyone I knew that I was changing my habits, because then I was more liable to keep up with things. My brother was a big help, as he had recently lost more than 100lbs., so he was a source of encouragement and support, and I could tell him about things I was feeling (i.e. fears about the gym, feeling pressured at my then new job to fit in by going out for lunch, which I hated, etc.).
As for the weight loss, I lost pretty steadily, and the first 30lbs came off in what felt like a short amount of time. I first noticed a change in my butt. It lifted! :-) And 2nd in my stomach--my waist has become much more pronounced. Then I hit my first plateau and got frustrated for a bit, but realized that it was a good time to challenge myself and I had to learn what worked for me to get me over the hump. The next 30lbs were slow going, but I wasn't as diligent with my workouts as I should have been, either.
I've now lost about 65-70lbs, but I slacked off (i.e. no workouts, not eating the way I should) for the first few months of 2006. I got back on track last month, though, and I'm already seeing results. I started working out with a friend who has lost over 100lbs., and that helps to keep me going. I feel tighter and more motivated already. I have about 40lbs left until my "goal weight," and I'm feeling good now about getting serious and committed again. The winter was tough on my motivation, but now the heat and hard bodies everywhere are inspiring me!

I've been trying to lose weight for a number of years.
I have pretty much tried everything - every weight loss product that
has come along. Although I might lose a few pounds, the programs
never seemed to do the job and the weight came back. Having been
very trim with very low body fat during my 20's and 30's, the idea of
being overweight does not sit well with me - I felt like a fat pig.
When I read about the STACK product on a website, I was very
skeptical - another miracle product. But, I figured I'd give the STACK a try.
On March 6th, I weighed 206 pounds and my waist was a whopping 38".
I followed the instructions for the first 4 days, but on the weekend I had
only one shake and ate both lunch and dinner. I did the same for the week
of March 13th. For the week of the 20th, I had 2 shakes per day and ate
only one meal although it wasn't always lunch. I drank at least 3 16 oz.
bottles of water with the Nitro Boost and I took 3 of the tune-up capsules
in the morning and again at night. And of course, I started every day with
a bottle of water and ACT. Sometimes I'd had a second ACT drink in
mid-afternoon. It is now March 28th and I'm still doing the 2 shakes per day
in place of breakfast and dinner.
Three weeks and 1 day from starting the program:
I now weigh 188 pounds - that's a loss of 18 pounds!
My waist is now under 36 inches - a loss of over 2 inches!
That roll around my middle is nearly gone and my stomach looks flat!
Love handles? What love handles?
I am not dehydrated since I'm drinking plenty of water. I have not experienced
any of the following - no dizziness, no loss of energy, no light-headedness, no cravings,
or any hunger. I will confess that I did feel hungry on the first day of the program, but
not since.
This is just an awesome product. And on top of everything else - it tastes good.
Anyone who wants to lose weight should try it - the results are immediate (couple of days)
which reinforces your commitment.
My friends know me - I don't exaggerate and you can't
fake an 18 pound weight loss or a 2+ inch loss around the middle.

I started with weight watchers and I was excited as I purchased a couple of their cookbooks and the food was really good. I did not go to meetings at all. I was keeping track of points. I was a little hungry the first week. I didn't used to eat a lot but what I was eating was the wrong stuff. I used to have a sandwich with cheese, mayo, etc. and then started buying Healthy Choice meals (they have weight watcher points on them too). -- This is about lunch for me though - which is my hungry time of day. I was losing it and feeling healthy because I was eating healthy finally too. I wasn't hungry after the 1st week and I started seeing results and got excited. I knew I didn't want to lose it fast because when you do - you'll gain it back (and then some). I lost about 70 pounds and kept it off for 3 years now. I still eat Healthy Choice at lunch and what I WANT on the weekend. This way I'm not hungry and I'm also not depriving myself. Now I am just maintaining. If I feel like I'm starting to gain weight, I back off on the bad stuff for a weekend. It's not that hard - it really isn't. Oh and stop calling it a "diet" will make a BIG difference.

About 18 mos. ago, I decided to lose weight. I cut out most sugar and fried foods, including chips, cookies, and sweetened tea. I really cut down on starch, i.e., white bread, pasta, and white rice. For almost two months I saw no progress. Suddenly, in early May, the pounds began to fall off like crazy. I felt amazing. I plateaued briefly in the high 120's. I began drinking tons of water. My weight was at a high of 153 and now I weigh 119-122. For about 8 mos. I have been eating some sweets, and rice and/or pasta two or three times a week. Maybe fried food twice a month.
I feel just great. My clothes look good, the summer heat doesn't bother me. I can still remember how elated I felt when the pounds began to melt away. I can now mow grass or clean house and drop a couple of pounds easily if I feel I have "slipped". I am so grateful that I did not give up after my slow start!!
Good luck to you.

The first week of the diet was tough, but I made very distinct changes. But I felt great mentally and physically. I told a few close friends that I was dieting so that I could get encouragement and motivation on a day where I was feeling weak. I lost 12 lbs in the first few weeks, but I eliminated most of the sugar from my diet except in fruits and vegetables. Got rid of most starches, but your body needs carbs, so don't eliminate that. Smaller portions and exercise. I walk/jog for about 45min to an hour almost everyday. Add some resistance training and you'll be feeling great. Good luck!!

I was 20 pounds overweight and had started running. I became really interested in healthy eating really quickly. I looked up all kinds of foods on the internet and started making them myself.
But I got really discouraged when I couldn't run very far. The first time I got out on the track, I couldn't even run half a mile without stopping. I kept with it though, and the results were really quick to present themselves: about two weeks. The first thing I noticed was that my thighs and arms were becoming really muscular and thin.
I didn't check the scales very often, about once every month, because I was more concerned with inches. I went down to a small or extra-small on top and a size 3-5 on the bottom and therefore really didn't care how much I weighed. But in the end, I've lost around 25 pounds from running and am much healthier for it.

I read a book (South Beach Diet) that focused on eating healthy food. Every time I have successfully dieted, it was because I focused on what I ate, not on what I did NOT eat.
With this diet, I ate healthy, non-processed foods like fresh vegetables, seafood (I don't eat meat, but the diet allows for lean meat), whole grain breads and so on.
I lost a little weight very quickly and before long, I could tie my shoes again! I was ecstatic! (I had gained about 50 lbs when I quit smoking). Since I started it, I have been trying to lose quite slowly so I will be less flabby. It's working! I feel happy with myself and find I want to do more physical work, like working in the garden, that builds muscle.

I have been starting to lose weight. At first I didn't tell anyone because I didn' want anyone coming up to me and telling me I looked like I lost weight when I really didn't look it. But, I didn't tell anyone an they still told me that, so I felt very encouraged. Right now I've lost 9 pounds in 3 weeks and If your determined enough you can to that too.
