my brother and sister-in-law have a 7-month old little miracle (she was VERY premature) and they are great parents.
i thought it was funny b/c they call her little names when she cries. like, "monster" or "hateful a ss" (southern thing). they aren't being serious, they're just letting off steam...like "oh, come ere monster...what's wrong..." while they coo and cuddle her.

well, they have friends that call their kids "doodles" and "terds"...like to the point where they actually thought that's what kids are called!
this is funny b/c the one little girl asked my brother, "so do you guys have a doodle?" b/c that's what she thought little girls were called!!!

i find this humorous b/c they are all good parents and it's just in fun.

so, i was wondering...do you have funny names for your kids??

thanks!

We call my 5 yr old Katie Monster. When she was 3 she actually came to me & asked why we call her a monster & I told her we call her Monster for fun because we love her & that she was a good monster like Cookie Monster & Elmo. After that she started telling people Monster was her middle name..........I also have 2yr old twins. We call them monkey butts cause they like monkeys & they are always in trouble....... My sister has been called Spike since the day she was born cause she had a lot of dark hair that stuck straight up. Now she's a beautiful tall 16 yr old brunette who prefers to be called Jen. My girls call her Aunt Spikey

I've had a ton for my son. I think it's normal. My brother calls my nephew PITA which stands for pain in the @ss. But that doesn't mean he doesn't love to bunches. It's actually kind of funny because my nephew is so good and he smiles at everything. He is such a happy little thing....it's not meant to be serious. Some people just pick weird nick names to call their kids. I knew I out grew a lot of what I called my son...just like pumkin, sweet pea, monkey, moose...stuff like that. It kind of came in phases.

I call my daughter beener head, I don't know why she has beautiful long hair and I call my son Ethie Opie. He used to be really skinny and his name is Ethan. I can understand most of the names but "hateful ***" whether its southern or not is not appropriate to be calling a small child or baby.

I call my 5 y.o. Sugar Bugar (from Jimmy Neutron, his favorite cartoon), Peanut (for his cute peanut head), Dash (because he runs really fast like Dash in the Incredibles) and when he is in trouble..lol..I call him BRYCE MICHAEL!
I call my 2 y.o. Jack Jack (like Incredibles..he acts just like him..), Tank (he's a strong boy), and his brother calls him Jagley (for his name Jason Bradley mixed together..) It is so cute..now most of the family calls him that.
Thanks for the fun question....!
