You need to try and stay up until later tonight when you can get a full 8 hours of sleep and get up at a decent time. If you're too tired, set your alarm fora 30 minute nap...maybe you'll feel better.

Went through this everytime I had to switch from midnights to days when I worked as a police/fire dispatcher. If you can, yes, stay up today. If you have to take a power nap, do like the other answerer stated: set an alarm and get up after no more than an hour. Then, just go to bed at a regular time tonight. You may even try taking a mild sedative like Tylenol PM a couple hours before you want to fall asleep. Good luck.

By not sleeping at all today, you should be able to sleep tonight. I would suggest going to bed tonight around 10 p.m.
You will have to be diligent in not sleeping during the day for the next 3 weeks as it takes 21 days to build a new habit and your sleep pattern is a habit.

it will probably hurt you to stay awake for to long. Not a noticable hurt of course, but hurt none the less. I would say read a book on your side that should help you fall asleep, don't smoke for about two hours if you smoke (ciggarettes are kind of an upper) If you decide to stay up untill night again just don't relent. Night after night, stay in bed. It will take a while to change a bodies pattern.

Yes, wait until your normal bedtime to go to sleep. If you sleep during the day again, you're not going to get back on a schedule.

You need to get outside. The sun will help reset your internal clock. Also, there is a natural supplement called Melatonin. Take that before you go to sleep and that really helps too.
