Don't forget Madison Avenue
This site below gives you a map and everything.
Also, china town has some really funky and cheap stuff.

One day ain't really enough. But...thanks for trying.

Go to Serendipity 3 for lunch. Take my word for it. See site below.

Walk down 5th Ave, loaded with shops. The Empire State Building, Chrysler building, The Seaport, Planetarium. Places to dine, all round. Have a great time!

Just one day? Yikes! OK, if you take 34th Street from 9th Avenue through 5th, you'll walk by stores of all types & for all budgets (including Macy's, H&M, Old Navy). Lots of shoes between 6th & 5th. For electronics, there's B&H on 34th & 9th. Take your pick on where to stop & munch, just avoid the Friday's on 8th, it's too expensive & with lousy service. On 6th Avenue, just 1 block over on 33rd Street, is the Manhattan Mall, assuming your feet can still hold you up that is. Enjoy & come back!

I don't have an answer to your question, but I just wanted to tell you that I think your taking your daughters-in-law on this shopping trip is the nicest thing I've heard of in a long time.

I hope they are as nice to you as you are to them and I will keep your example in mind if ever I should have daughters-in-law. (My boys seem kind of slow on the uptake!)
