Why do we continue to do nothing about animals being slaughtered for fur?

Seals, foxes, chinchillas, rabbits, etc. are all killed for no reason but that humans want their fur for a status symbol. We, as a group of civilized (we don't need fur to keep us warm as Native Americans did) should be doing something to say "Enough already" to any establishment that sells fur.

Humans are civilized? Have you watched the news anytime during your life? Read any history? Where do you live? The desert or the North pole, because if it's any where else you helped to support the deforestation and extinction of how knows how many animals.

We don't need to fur to keep warm like old days? Course not, we can plow under 10000 acres of forest, displace whole species of animals for that new latex plant.

You want a cause? Go see your senator and ask him why there's 10,000 less trees in your state then there was last year, and what impact thats having.

The reality is that so long as there are people willing to buy the fur, there will be people who will kill these animals for their fur. Instead of attacking the establishments that sell the fur, we should stop buying music from artists that buy the fur, like J-Lo, Mariah Carey, P. Diddy, etc. Also stop renting hotel rooms at the Hilton. Stop buying Elizabeth Taylor perfumes. And stop seeing movies from actors and actresses that wear fur.

Here's an idea, if you don't like the idea of fur coats, then don't wear them.

But where do people get off telling others what they can or cannot wear? I personally don't wear fur, but that is only because of the climate where I live. If I lived in a climate that warranted fur, then most likely, if I could afford one, then I would have a fur coat.

For the belligerent out there, this is my choice and only my choice as I said above, if you don't like the idea of wearing fur, then by all means, exercise your right to NOT wear it, but DON'T push your views off on every one else and abuse them for choosing to exercise their rights.

Because not everyone has your same views. Although I do enjoy watching and learning about animals, I don't see anything wrong with killing animals. We (humans) have done it since the first day of our existance. Killing is part of life, the life God created for us. Now if you're just killing animals for fun or just to kill them. I can see how people get angry. I myself don't kill animals unless I am going to eat them. If they are an endangered species i have a problem with that too.

Killing them for fur, because it sells. Maybe we don't need them to keep warm. But we are living in different times. You need money to survive these days.

The best way to stop abuse of slaughter houses, fur people and drug dealers and gambleing. Don't buy it! That's a simple truth.
Most Mexicans come up here to sell drugs. Want it to stop.

As long as people fork over money for such things the abuse will continue. Wether it is the tobacco growers using the best farm land and the majority of fertilizers for a crop we don't need.

i bet many wanted to help on ending this "fur madness" but there is just not much of reaching out and callings for those who would like to make a stand and make an action regarding this, might as well be like it needs a lead if you know what i mean.

Oh, and there is no manmade material that can keep you warm in a Russian winter. Only fur can keep you from freezing!

Apathy. people would extremely bypass abode and watch their TIVO'd reruns of the OC than get up for change. And besides the very undeniable actuality that an prepared march on Washington would probably wake maximum folk of persons up out of their gluttony coma, we are lacking one component...a frontrunner. without one we are only a grumbling mass of ineffective armchair dissidents. And make no mistake, i'm no longer thumbing my nostril at anybody; i'm component to the priority too.
