Have you checked the polaroid web site to see if they have updated drivers of XP available? What kind of error do you get when trying to install the software?

you can try using xp compatibility program ...if not it is an old camera you have now...seriously cameras are cheaper than they were before ...buy a new one ....
I have a sony cybershot ( which I love ) but I could not pass up a sale at best buy for a Hp 5.0 camera ..it was only 100...by the way you camera was the first one I had in 96 .....no polaroid does not have new drivers for it ....sorry

do you have a driver compatible with an older version of windows?
if so try running the driver in compaitibilty mode.
