Completely agree with the last few responses.
"But I don’t want to bulk up". Big myth here, folks, lifting an 8lb dumb bell 10-12 times is not gonna cause you to bulk up. In fact it will tighten and lengthen your muscles and make you look leaner.
Meal Plan + Weights + Cardio = The best shape you will ever be in.

The only thing that causes bulk is your diet! Eating less and doing weights - yes weights - will help you tone up and lose inches - not necessarily pounds because muscle is heavier than fat and its shapeless. I knew a supermodel who weighed more than I did, yet she was as lean as anything. It takes a loooong time to build up bulk in any exercise! A weekly variance of weights, cardio and stretching exercises such as pilates and yoga are an all round plan to looking good.

The only way you will cause bulk in weight training is if you train for size. With the proper trainer they should be able to develope a program that is a combination of cardio, weights, and DIET. to accomplish your goal.

Weight training does not cause bulk in women unless you have abnormal testosterone levels. It defines and shapes your body and burn more calories than fat. Every pound of muscle on your body burns 50 calories an hour, fat.......only 2. So hit the weights!

Well, theres pilates that shapes and tightens... Or aerobic workouts. If you are overweight, you can work out normally first because you will slim down before building bulk. If you are already slim, then use stuff like pilates taht shape your bodyparts ^_^ it really works!
