The name was later changed into Systeme, Anwendungen und Produkte in der Datenverarbeitung: Systems, application and products in the data processing.
The company is specialized in large application supporting large corporations.
SAP is well known for its ERP solution R/3. The modularity of the product allows a certain fexibility in the implementation and use.

SAP is a complete application which uses database(s), web services, built in business (almost everything), ABAP programming language, along with hooks for about any other.
Originally written in Germany for production business, it is the most stable business system which continues to include ALL of the latest technologies that hit the virtual street.
After working with it from a System Administration stand point it is the best overall application for business (period).

I don't know what SAP stands for but it is the name of a software developer and software that we use it at work. Amongst other things its a program that allows us monitor stock movements, eg if we have it in stock, if the warehouse has it in stock and if otherstores have it in stock. It also allows us to see what stock is in transit and the movements eg- how many were sold and returned etc. If u want to no more there web site is www.sap.com
