I have been homeschooling my kids for almost 15 years now. We love it! Never had any good experiences with public school. Homeschool rocks!

We've been a homeschooling family for the past 11 years. My oldest chose to go to college three years ago and graduated this year with two *** in Applied Science. My youngest is 14 so the journey continues.
We like homeschooling because it gives us the opportunity to individualize the education received to each child's needs. My oldest was a very independent person from the day she was born. She needed very little help from me and she found her own passion (horticulture) naturally through a form of homeschooling known as unschooling.
My middle child is 18 and the same is true for her. She is becoming a marvelous seamstress with very little help from others. She is starting to make a profit with her skills.
My son, the youngest, needs more structure in his education and we provide that for him. Although, our problem now, is that he has gone beyond my level and his grandmother's level in math. We are currently researching on-line mathematics programs to supplement our abilities.
That is the true advantage to homeschooling though. Each of my children needed something different when it comes to education. Homeschooling allowed us the options to find what worked for each child as an individual.

We use Connections Academy, a virtual public charter school, that works with school districts to allow for the public school funds not shared with Homeschoolers for their education to be utilized while maintaining a Homeschool environment--best of both worlds really. Currently Connections Academy have schools in 10 states (AZ, CA, CO, FL, ID, MN, OH, OR, PA, and WI)--and offer a complete school curriculum and the best part is that it is in FREE. Go to www.connectionsacademy.com to check it out---it was the best decision we ever made.

Yes, I am home schooled.I am in high school and sometimes miss being around people, but i am old enough to know it was the right choice. But it might not be right for everybody.

I was for ... 5 years? while we lived in the Philippines [my parents were missionaries]. I liked it, but that's 'cos I like to learn. I like normal high school much better than I ever liked home schooling, though; friends, variety of learning, interesting subjects, and teachers who know what they're about!

I home school somebody else's children and it is awesome! Nothing like one-on-one attention to help boost a student's success!
