I had a health course where they covered this. The text we used in the class set the limit on a weekly basis and revolved around the idea of why you drink as opposed to how much you drink. But, not factoring in dietary concerns, the most important thing, as stupid as it might sound, is not drinking to get drunk.

If you drink one shot of Aqavit or a Manhattan once per day with dinner, you will live a long and healthy life. Other alcoholic beverages probably work as well, but this is what my Great-Grandma did and she lived into her mid-90's in her own home without needing a nurse or maid or anything of the like. Also, studies have proven that alcoholic beverages in moderation do help against heart disease and other ailments. One or two drinks everyday is no problem. If you are getting drunk everyday or trying to, then you may have a problem.

It's easy for a glass of wine at night to turn into a habit. Its not healthy to drink every day even if it is only one or two, but I think if you cannot go a day without having a drink or you are miserable and unbearable without having your daily fix then yes, you do have a drinking problem.

I oftentimes have wine each night, I look after all my popular jobs as a spouse, mom, finished time pupil to no longer point out a brilliant domicile with 3 canine 2 cats a million snake and a Sunday college daycare provider so if i will deal with all that i do no longer think of having a pair of drinks to sit down back is a topic.

It depends how much you drink. If you are getting wasted every single day, then yes, I think you have a problem. But if you're having one beer a day or a glass of wine with dinner, then I don't consider that a problem.

If you ask me, drinking at all causes problems, particularly to your health. But I believe a drinking problem popularly occurs when you rely on drinking, or when you are unable to stop.
