If it's a long, chronic depression and nothing seems to help, see a doctor so you can receive treatment if necessary.
If it's fairly short term or if you know the reasons behind it, work on making yourself a better, happier person one step at a time. Find a hobby you enjoy, spend more time with friends. There's a saying, "You can't think yourself into good living, but you can live yourself into good thinking"... which means you will be better off getting out there and getting into better physical habits, and eventually the mind will follow and the depression will fade away.
In any case, good luck with it, and take care. I've been there. :)

There are more than 1 ways.
-Travel, jump on a greyhound bus and move to a city that youve always been curuios about.
-have some good sex.
-make allot of money.
-keep your self busy, working allot, meeting new friends at jobs or anywhere else.
-buy some nice clothes for your self.
dont be so hard on your self, dont feel guilty about stupid mistakes, it happens to everyone, FORGET ABOUT THE PAST,
make new memories! allot more so that the past that hunts you starts fading away, only think about the future and make some new goals and reach out for them.

do things that make you feel good and keep on doing them, write some goals down and make yourself do them, read that list everyday, talk to people you trust, dont ever keep your depression bottled up its very un healthy, if you are really depressed and have tried everything to get out of it, please go and visit your doctor, but remember the human mind is very powerful and you can overcome this, just be patient with yourself, good luck i hope i have helped.

You can talk with friends or you can see someone professionally. It isn't to be taken likely since its about you and how you feel. Take it seriously and take care of yourself.
