Just a poll out of curiousity, who is the greatest fighter of all time, living and deceased (before you say Bruce Lee, which most ppl probably will, don't forget we're not excluding those ppl from long ago that found traditional systems and or fought long ago)? Honestly...

But seriously, throughout all of history, probably King David.
He killed Goliath as a little boy, then later in life (I may be wrong but I think this is right), in order to marry the girl he wanted her father told him to go out and collect the foreskins of 1000 of his enemies. He came back with 2000, nice!

I would each fighter has their own uniqueness that makes them special and the greatest in thier own right. Such as Ali was famous on making a rap on what round he was going to knock his foe down. Bruce Lee showed his talent has the greatest to knock your foe down without doing much harm to yourself or your foe but just enough to get that person naturlized.

Granted some fighters cant live up to those of the past not just because the paved away but because they are greedy and get big headed. Yes I enjoy the people who have fought in the past and made fighting more intresting then these people now adays. So show me a Joe Lewies fight or an Ali fight I would choose those classic fighters any day of the week over the ones now.

Just giving my thoughts on the matter.

Frank Shamrock. Voted best MMA fighter of the 1990's by Black Belt magazine, he started in the shadow of his older adopted brother Ken Shamrock but is his own right became the best ever mixed martial arts fighter in recorded history. See UFC 22 if you can hire it and you will see what I mean! His flexibility, ground fighting skills, submission moves, punching, kicking and incredible strength and fitness make him the best ever. Bruce without question was great, so great in fact that Frank Shamrock himself rates him as a major influence on his life. With all respect to Bruce, he never competed in real fighting tournaments like Frank has and still does, so while this will upset Bruce's many hard core fans, experts have actually rated Frank Shamrock as better than Bruce Lee.

Fedor Eliminkator if it is just hands to hands.

Mirko Cro Cop if it also include weapons and other stuff.

They both would bend bruce Lee over like a choir boy and ride him so hard.

Anyone who label bruce Lee as reatest fighter actually have absolutely no knowledge of what real fight is like.

There really isn't a quantitative answer to that question. Really when it comes down to it, people will argue greatest fighter in a specific type of fighting whether it be MMA, boxing, wrestling, karate, jujitsu... you get the idea. I'd have to say the greatest fighter of all time is the one that walks away from a fight without taking the beatdown.

Cassius Clay.

If wartime fighting counts, China's Lu Bu (end of the Later Han Dynasty) is legendary and was supposedly unstoppable, riding ahead of his troops into battle and killing everyone in his path. And he was a commander on the field from the age of 17.

Edit: KinkyPoodleBoy's link is awesome, he should get the 10 points for that. :)
