wow, it depends on where the traffic is, you could go "over the top"; throgs neck bridge, cross bronx expressway west over george washington bridge, garden state pkway south.. but if you hit traffic on cross bronx... ouch... the same could easily happen if you take the staten island route, it depends on the time of day... anyway you go in mid morning or afternoon.. 1-2hr ride. make sure you get and study maps before you go.

well since you dont have a CAR... i dont think driving directions will help you much.

try the NY Airport service bus lines - you can take them into manhattan penn station which has connections to amtrak or nj transit train lines which will get you to Newark (either the city or the airport make surre you know which one).

LGA sucks cause there's hardly any good way to get there from anywhere by public transit (except bus)

Take BQE ->Verazzanos->Gothels bridge-> NJTPK->EWR

It may be a tad longer than BQE->495W->Lincoln tunnel->NJTPK but lot faster. Crossing Manhattan is a big hassle.

you have plenty of choices... (assuming speeding was allowed) you could take a car, or go by plane...
