Religion is not what gives your life meaning. The individual is the one that gives meaning to their own life. I don't go to church,(never really enjoyed it, thought it was far fetched and boring).I don't have to go to a church to have someone else tell me the meaning to live my life, I can do that myself. My temple(church) is in my heart and everything I choose to do with it, either will give me no meaning or will fill my life with meaning. It all depends on how each person chooses to use it.I'm not against people who have religion in their lives, and believes that it gives meaning. That is what they choose. I choose my own private religion(I guess you can say), and I know the meaning to live my life.

Religion isn't required. But it's beneficial. Without religion, why are we humans living today? Is our soul purpose is be born, live life and die without any return?

No...there has to be something MORE...something that is greater than we can imagine. If not, then what's the point in living any further if there is no hope for a future?

All religions set goals, boundaries, and values. The question is though: Which religion fits a person BEST? There's all sorts including Islam, Christianity, Buddhism, and so on. Because humans have to have a SET minded heart, religion is bound to fit this need perfectly.

Atheism, in fact, is a religion. It's a religion of man's own self. Some people look at this idea and think, "No, because atheists reject the idea of religion and therefore, 'truly' live." However, this isn't all true. Atheism sets man up to a point of living to themselves. They set their own limits, goals, and ideas whereas other religions, are already set out.

Without religion, people are generally lost. Confusion and depression become a major role in their lives. Why? Easy. They really have nothing to hold onto except themselves, and knowing the human mind and body, a "humanistic" religion can't fully support itself.

There is no human being that can be relied upon 100% of the time. We all have our own agendas at some point in our life and can't be there for everyone all the time. Religion fills the void for some people when they need help and there's no one to turn to. It's also useful to some people to know that there is always someone there, either watching or helping, throughout their life. If people thought they were totally on their own then the meaning of their existance would be nonexistant. (If a tree falls in a forest and there's no one to hear it, does it make sound?)

We dont need any religion to live!
What do you intent with the phrase 'meaning to live our life'?
Any other meaning than pulling on the life from birth to death is applied, then you should have a backing of the doctrines and philosophies preached by religion.

Its inherent in our pitiful lives that we're self-serving egotistical, and the only time we become even almost relevant is when we participate in something or a plan greater than our selfish interests.

Everybody HAS religion, -even the atheist. You just need to figure out how their religion works. Is it personal and individualistic, is it corporate, ie with others.

Atheist simply state that they are the final authority for what's right and wrong. Rattling around in their own head. After all, if your athiest doctrines are never written down, - you can change it any time, -without guilt.

We are not just flesh. God says we are Flesh, Spirit and Soul. You feed and nourish your body with food. You learn and educate your spirit(mind). But if you don't deal with your soul what good is the other parts of your being. There is a natural emptyness in all. It needs to be filled with something. If it is not being filled by God then you will use whatever is available to fill the void in your life. I could be sex, drugs, drinking or self. What ever it is you were never made to be apart from God. But because of the sin of our parents(Adam and Eve) God can't have fellowship with us to fill our void. I wouldn't say you need religion cause that is man's attemp to reach God but you need a relationship with God. Try through Jesus. You might find that you are all the person that God wanted you to be. 4Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone.'[a]"

We don't need religion. We need to recognize that there is a higher, spiritual power source and it doesn't have to have a name. Your spirit will live even when your body dies. Animals have lives and no religion and they have survived longer than humans have. If you don't believe in nothing, you'll fall for anything.

Well, for me... we are living today because we were created by god...he is the source of our life, of everything that is happening in our lives, of this life that he gave us...that's why religion is important... and in the end we will go back to him.
