hi , i am a Australian resident. i would like to apply for the J1 visa to get a trainee ship..?

i am in the hotel trade. how would i apply for this..

You should just hop a flight to Tijuana, Mexico and from there hook up with one of the millions of Mexicans sneaking into the US. Sneak in, Find a Job and wait, in a couple years time you'll be granted amnesty. Trust me it'll be a lot easier and quicker then going the legal route.

I think you have to apply it from your country of origin (Australian). Call your embassy and inquire there.
