are there any poisons leeching into my food when microwaving them in styrofoam leftover boxes?

don't do it, at high temperatures, the chemicals will get into your food, that's one reason why utensils have to be rated microwave-save for use in m/w.

No, it definitely isn't safe.
That's why all the Pizza restaurants switched from styrofoam to cardboard packaging.
It's also a heath hazard to microwave food that's been covered with Saran wrap. The saran wrap drips toxins into the food as its being microwaved. Instead, cover your food with a napkin or paper towel.

Actually, You don't have to be worried about this.

Microwave's wave don't heat food normally, they repeatedly flowing waves on your food. As long as you don't have any closed liquid, styrofoam are not harmful to your microwave neither your body. But I must warn you, Egg inside a styrofoam inside a microwave oven still is dangerous.

not from one use but I wouldn't do it again. It has become habit at my house to only warm up food in glass or china/porcelain or on a piece of paper...don't trust styrofoam or ANY plastic

no it isn't safe - at my husbands work which is a very big corperation they stopped giving coffee in a styrofoam cup because of the toxins that it lets out

Please put your food in a better container. Styrofoam can indeed leak chemicals into your food when heated in a microwave.

only if you do it for an extended period of time, like say 3 or 4 minutes, but a minute or two wont hurt you.

I wouldnt do it .No there is not poisons leeching in your food.Poeple gust want to make moeny.
