Certainly not, but I'm an atheist so that should come as no surprise. I think it's far, far more likely that she had sex, with Joseph, got pregnant, was unmarried, and that meant a death sentence in those days, so she (or maybe Joseph) made up a story about how she got pregnant without ever having sex. That's when things started to get out of control. You know the rest.

Absolutely.
I find it very humorous how Atheists, who claim we are "shoving our faith down their throats", yet jump at every chance to shove down *their* beliefs down *our* throats and mock and insult our faith that almost 1/3 of the human population find to be sacred ... Disgraceful.
By the way, "CrowFeather" wrote that much of the History of Christ was fabricated by a so-called "Council of the Nazarene" in the 5th century ...
There is no such souncil, pal. I haven't the slightest clue as to where you pulled that out of. Apparently a pretentious attempt to sound intellectual, no?
There were only 2 councils in the 5th Century. The Council of Ephesus (431 AD) and the Council of Chalcedon (451 AD). Neither of which invented any new doctrine, but in fact put down heresies that denied the existing doctrine.
... Just felt I should correct that statement.
God bless.

Yes I believe she was because if she wasn't God couldn't have used her to bring His son into the world. I know its hard to believe that there are still virgins today but there are. People who choose to do what is right in the sight of God and not man. It is funny how people who don't believe what Christians do make fun of what we believe but yet when you say your an atheiest or anything else Christians treat others with the utmost respect even though we know their belief isn't the Truth. What Christians believe isn't stupid nor is it a "humbug" story. We have faith that God has rescued us from our stupididy. Thank God he did cause I would be lost in my sins. Somethings in the bible either you believe and have faith in because God said it or you don't. Its your choice but don't mock others because you don't believe.

It was prophesied that Christ would be born of a virgin. So, yeah, Mary was. She had no other children and we know from Tradition that she remained a virgin, so why shouldn't we believe it? Why is a humbug story?

No, as there is some historical writings that Jesus had older siblings, of course those writings aren't in the Bible, as a lot of Jesus History was removed in the 5th Century AD, by the council of the Nazarene.

Yes, I absolutely believe this. She supernaturally conceived through the power of the Holy Spirit. The very God who created life in Adam and Eve, the very God who created the entire universe, can easily create another life in the womb as well.

The term "virgin" meant a woman who hadn't given birth yet. She was married to Joseph, after all...chances are she wasn't a "virgin" in the modern sense of the word.

God wanted to show people see if I wish I could do this, I could impregnate a virgin, yes she was a virgin when she conceived Jesus. Tell me it possible for a girl to become pregnant without having sexual relationship, yes it is, artificial insemination. how do you define a virgin - someone who did not have any sexual relationship or someone who is free of all sins

I believe the idea of immaculate conception was around long before Jesus' time. I believe the church conveniently borrowed this idea and applied it to Jesus to bestow Godhood upon him. I also believe Jesus was the greatest MAN to walk the earth. The absolute epitome of what we all should be.

In Islam this is called slandering, if you could not prove it , you are to be whipped I think not less than 70 times, and you will not be accepted as a witness, ever. So can you prove your claims? If not ..then someone should whip you ....
Anyhow , We have the proof, Allah in His Qura'an said so, and that is more than enough proof.
