6 months minimum for fixing else you risk urinary tract problems. I've had all combinations of cats, closer to same age works a bit better. Older ones aren't able to play as much with the younger ones and will die sooner creating a void you tried to prevent. They also tend to be a bit less territorial when together younger. The only drawback I've noticed with more than one younger cat is they become a bit less people oriented, not mean, but more into playing and being around each other.

and it depends on the cat it self cause i had a male cat once since it was born and it never sprayed at all and sometimes cats start spraying at 6months old to?
and if you want to bond the cats together its best to get the other younger than the other one and it should be a female cat cause 2 of the same sex cat into your home will kill one another cause that has happen to be which i did not know that then but i do now?

6 months. And if you plan on getting him a pal find one within a year or two of his age or about the same age. Male or female it doesn't matter. Some humane societies will give a trail period to see if the new pet gets along with the old pet. But expect a little territory tension at first.

anytime any elderly cat is going below anesthesia there's plausible. that is real that neutering can prevent prostate, yet does it extremely make experience at this degree. Cats commonly stay as a lot as two decades, so with the surgical procedure you would possibly want to get 8+ healthful years. notwithstanding, he may not in any respect advance prostate complications, so this is extremely as a lot as you. in case you settle on to get him neutered be certain you get an finished blood panel to envision for any sensitivites/hypersensitive reactions. good success!

I have always heard you should do it right before they first start spraying, other wise they could continue to spray even after being neutered.
I think its at eight months it can be done
