I have just had a file sent to me with the extension .sit I am told it is mac but I work with a pc. help?

You might try the "StuffIt Expander", which is a free download at the site listed below. It can handle over 25 file formats, include .sit files.

It is most likely a StuffIt compressed file. You need a StuffIt expander to open it. The link is to a 30-day trial of StuffIt.
