ANOTHER QUESTION...
in the time period that joseph smith had the book of mormon revealed to him, there was not enough technology to get all of the geographic details down as accurate as GOD did. and also, joseph smith was not the britest kid on the block,(i think his family was the only one on the block), how did he write the entire book of mormon, in the amount of time that he did?

these links are using "parts of the book of mormon" that dont even exist and proving them wrong.
there is one link that actually uses real pieces from the B of M and even IT takes the words of god out of context.

Many people assume that if they read the Book of Mormon they will get a good idea of LDS beliefs.
However, the Book of Mormon teaches one God, not plural gods as in Mormonism.
It mentions heaven and hell, not three degrees of glory, no temple marriage or secret temple ceremonies.
It does not teach baptism for the dead, pre-existence of man, eternal progression or polygamy.
One of the most objectionable doctrines in the Book of Mormon is its view of skin color. White skin is seen as desirable, dark skin is seen as a mark of God's displeasure.

There is no evidence that the Book of Mormon people ever existed. Smith claimed to copy off from the plates a sample of the Nephite writing system. It looks more like a collection of various scripts thrown together upside down, backwards, sideward, etc. with no apparent pattern. There is no evidence that such a script was ever used. In Mexico and Guatemala there are multiple examples of Mayan writings on various buildings and monuments but there are no examples of the type of writing Smith claimed to find.

It has been almost 170 years since Joseph Smith first published the Book of Mormon. To date, there is not one artifact that can be identified as being made by the people of the Book of Mormon. Also, there is no official map designating the location of any Book of Mormon city. Joseph Smith preserved an example of the supposed writing on the plates. No other sample of such writing has ever been found in the Americas. The Mormons point to the great Mayan ruins to establish that there was at one time a great civilization in southern Mexico and Guatemala. However, the Maya had their own pagan religion and history that has no connection to the supposed Book of Mormon people.

As we examine the Book of Mormon we must evaluate the people's living conditions with that of the Indians. What type of plants does the book mention? Were these plants in America at that time? What animals are said to be in the area? Did the Indians have the knowledge of metal working as mentioned in the Book of Mormon? What was their written language? Their mode of travel? How do these claims compare with archeology?

The Book of Mormon mentions: wheat (Mosiah 9:9), horses (1 Nephi 18:25), chariots (Alma 18:9-11; 20:6; 3 Nephi 3:22), cows (Enos 21), elephants (Ether 9:19), silk (Alma 1:29; 4:6; Ether 9:17), linen (Mosiah 10:5; Helamon 6:13; Ether 10:24), money-pieces of gold and silver (Alma 11:3-20), steel (2 Nephi 5:15; Jarom 1:8; Ether 7:9). None of these items were here before the Spaniards.

Since the Book of Mormon claims to be an historical document it should be examined on that basis to determine its authenticity. Prayer can be used as a part of the process but it is not a sufficient guide. Our own desires and emotions could mislead us (James 4:3). If prayer alone were sufficient to determine truth there would not be thousands of different religions.

I have no time for self righteous arrogance in any religion.

Is Mormonism so shallow all you have to do is read a book? How can anything be claimed or disputed until it is studied thoroughly and a person allowed to find their own truth? What you suggest is blind obedience and acceptance. I happen to know Mormonism is an ongoing process of learning and teaching. Were you brought up to blindly accept it or are you knowledgeable enough teach others why it is the truth? Religion only has meaning when it is freely accepted as a personal commitment. Not because you were told there is no other way.

Try there is no prophet ever recorded by the name of NEHI. I know of a grape soda but not a person in history that was a prophet. Lets see none of the location as recorded by the Book of Mormon can be found anywhere in the world. What else would you like to know. Even archologist can't find anything that supposed to exist from the Book of Mormon.

I have a feeling that there will be additional corrections to the BOM, on top of the almost 4,000 changes made since its first publication back in 1830... I got to be a going or I will no longer be God, oops that is the son of God... or because they was my parents and I was an uneducated prophet who had no grasp of the grammar of the English language, I suddenly found they were my parents after my fellow elders helped translate further. :) http://www.josephlied.com/changes.html

Amazing! [Concerning this record the Prophet Joseph Smith said: “I told the brethren that the Book of Mormon was the most correct of any book on earth, and the keystone of our religion, and a man would get nearer to God by abiding by its precepts, than by any other book.”] I guess it all depends upon a certain point of view and if it is your faith, great, just please don't try and shove it on another nor mislead them by doing so.

2 Corinthians 11:13 13For such men are false apostles, deceitful workmen, disguising themselves as apostles of Christ.

I believe JS is one such person or using correct grammar, was one such person.

I still don't know how people can say the BOM is the most correct book. BLAH BLAH BLAH. Open your minds people. There is so much that can be disproved. How about the Church changing policy with the times....

I have a vision from god saying we can now only have 1 wife..... right before the Government was to wipe them out....

I had a vision that black people are now ok.... while the civil right movement was in full swing. ... and that is after so many of the so called leaders said blacks aren't any good. ......

To be the one true church there is a butt load of lies in its past.....

Yes. The whole book of mormon is false. It is written by men who are corrupt and lived corrupt lifestyle. Joseph Smith advocates polygamy, their women have to wear "magic underpants" They say they are going to live on their own planet!!!!
They believe they existed in heaven before they came to earth!
They believe that Jesus was just a man and not God. The whole book is fiction!
And you believe this is true!

The Bible is true it it is inspired by God Timothy 3:16. The Bible IS GODS handy work.

yes the founder himself is fake. The book of mormonisim doesn't line up with the Holy Bible. The Bible say beware of any who claim to have recieved another doctrine from Jesus. Also the next time Jesus comes believers will be caught up in the air at the sound of the trumpet. Yes Jesus spoke of other doctrines but the word BEWARE OR WOE was closly affilatef\d with them.

Who is your LORD Joseph smith or Jesus The Christ Son of God my redeemer, my savior, my king. Who is more credibal Jesus or Joseph smith???????????????????????????

First of all Pal...YOU SERIOUSLY should not be selling the Book of Mormon this way...it is degrading.,..AND IF YOU KNOW THE ANSWER...WHY ASK THE QUESTION?

I AM A MEMBER OF THE CHURCH..THE CHURCH IS NOT AT ALL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FREE AGENCY OF ANY ONE PERSON AT ALL WHATSOEVER...YOU DECIDE TO GO TO THE CHURCH OR YOU DON'T...YOU DECIDE TO VISIT THE CHURCH OR YOU DO NOT..YOU GET BAPTIZED OR YOU DO NOT..ALL OF THOSE CHOICES WERE MADE BY YOU...

DON'T BLAME THE CHURCH FOR YOUR FAMILIES ISSUES...BLAME THE REAL PERSON WHO MADE THEIR OWN DECISIONS..IF THEY MADE IT DUE TO A MEMBER WHO FORCED THEM INTO IT...THEN SHAME ON THE PERSON THAT DID THAT...NOT ON THE CHURCH..THE PERSON IS RESPONSIBLE THAT YOUR KID WAS INTRODUCED..BUT YOUR FAMILY MEMBER STILL DECIDED TO USE DRUGS..

PEOPLE NEED TO LEARN HOW TO BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR THEIR OWN ACTIONS AND NOT BLAME THE CHURCH FOR THEIR PROBLEMS OR THAT OF THEIR FAMILY.

2ND OF ALL JERUSALEM IS IN THE BOOK OF MORMON AND IS OBVIOUSLY RECOGNIZED IN THE BIBLE AND EXISTS EVEN TODAY..AND IN THE TIME OF KING ZEDECHIAS IN JERUSALEM...IT WAS ACTUALLY DESTROYED..SO THAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED. NEHI HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE BOOK..

Nephi and Lehi...not Nehi...

the only obvious fact here is that everyone who has ripped on the church above me...HAS NEVER gone to the church itself or has even gone to the website..

but like someone else said..if you are a Mormon...you SHOULD know better....

There are so many outright lies in the Book of Mormon that they cannot even be listed here. Try these links instead if you want to avoid being tricked by this cult.

Also, if you are a Mormon and you are questioning your faith, try this one: http://www.exmormon.org/

And this one is a much older debunking of this cult. The fact is, that with the age of information has come the ability to instantly fact check these Mormon lies and they simply do not stand any type of critical analysis.
