Freecycle is the BEST. I got my friend into it, and now she's a moderator. WHHHOOOO HOOOOO! Good stuff on Freecycle

Yes, freecycle is great. The downside is people not showing up when they say they want an item, or I've actually had an experience of someone promising an item and then giving to someone else instead. Another problem is theft. Apparently some folks take things from people's porches that aren't being offered up on freecycle, and this would discourage me. It's never happened to me personally, but I did have someone walk right in my front door without even knocking - while I was in the bathroom - very frightening experience. It ended up being innocent (she thought it was an apartment building because she saw stairs and a few doors inside) but it was scary. Otherwise I think it's a good concept, and it keeps things out of landfills, or at least we hope.

I love Freecycle and how it's broken down by local areas to be more effective. There was another similar group that I was a member of for awhile, but I didn't think it was as well organized or monitored as to membership. I think Freecycle had better screening and rules and stuck to them better.

OOooooo....Freecycle is the best!! I love, love, love it.
I don't have to take my junk to the dump, someone who can get some more good use out of it just comes and takes it away for me!! And, I can get stuff I need from other people instead of buying it.
It's grrrreat!
